I'd say NO!

You've got a pulley/belt change, an injector swap, and a computer reflash.

Nothing there really needs a "break in".

Your clutch might not like it though ...

right when you get it, drive it like you stole it. Check to see if the redline has been bumped to 7000 rpms. If not turn around and have them reflash again.

Its more common than most people realize, I worked at a gm dealership for five or so years and it wasnt unusual for this to happen. Of course though it always happens when you need it...

Not that it's that important but . . . how many miles on your car at present? I have fewer than 15k on it. It probably has nothing whatsoever to do with whether one should or should not get the stage 2 but I am wondering when the 'itch' to get it starts kicking in.

Thanks. Maybe I'll use that 'economic stimulus' (p)rebate check the U.S. is going to be sending out in May to, in part, pay for the stage 2. GM needs all the help it can get, right?

well its finally in. i have the stage 2 kit installed. feels good. never gave as much of a kick as i was hoping. but i am happy with the result. a few things i checked were

1) rev limit (7k) checks out fine.
2) 120 kpas which is 17 psi boost
3) got the 3 inch pulley. yes i measured to make sure.
4) checked injectors as well. got the 42's in there.

anything else i can check to make sure its the true stage 2 install. just doesn't pull like i expected it to.
