Ghetto Air Box Filter Mod

Does anyone know of a high flow filter that will clamp down in the stock air box (without the use of adapter rings) and still allow the stock airbox cover to be in place if needed. I plan on running it without the cover (for the whine) but it would be nice to have the option to put it back on if needed. I want this filter to be self supporting (clamp to tighten) because I don't want to use gutter strap or anything else for support. I don't mind drilling a hole in the airbox to tighten down the clamp, I'll just get a plastic\rubber plug to fill the hole at the hardware store.

Part # or link would be helpful.

ThanX

So I guess nobody makes a filter that will be self supporting and also allows the airbox lid/cover to fit back on ? Or will this filter (RU-2710) also allow the lid to fit back on ?

Which one are you running and how do you like it ? Loud whine ?

ThanX

Get the dryflow AEM filter AEM 21-2110D, you can clamp it and it fits with the cover on.

Again :

Here is one (High flow) that will fit 100% in the stock airbox with the lower cover in place (back on) and it's specifically for the 2005-2006 Cobalt SS/SC :

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...px?Prod=E-0777

So it is self supporting because of the lower cover back on.
