GM STAGE 1 w/2.8 INSTALLED!!!!!!!

Hey guys just got everything up and running let me tell you it pulls soooooo hard. I am getting around 16-17 pounds of boost and it is great. Got one question though when I am around 5600 rpm the exhaust pops is that because I need to get colder plugs I just ordered the ngk two steps colder so hopefully that will fix the problem. When my local shop opens back up I will be at the dyno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this setup! Now I want to see if the reflash can adjust for the 2.6 pulley?

BLKSS if you are getting the same PSI with a bigger pulley check for exhaust restrictions ..

if you are getting a higher psi than you should its not a positive ... it could mean there is somethign restrictive in your exhaust ..like a cloged catilitic converter ..I am just heading out to lunch maybe someone else can go into more detali ...or you can search for cat issues I think someone has a good description

Oh, no, nothing like that. My exhaust is the stock one. Its already highflow and so is the cat. Nothing to worry about.

exactly ..lots of people having problems with stock exhaust and stock cat's ...if you are boosting more than what you should for your pulley size you could have a restriction in your exhaust ...regardless of if it is stock or not

I am getting the same amount of boost as BlackSS, i would be curious if the 16-17 is right at readline for glockglade because i only noticed that i hit 16.9 with another person watching the boost as i drove it all the way to 7K. When i was on my own the highest i saw was 15.6. Also glockglade does a have a 3" exhaust that may be dropping his boost some. I will look at my car more closely on saturday when i install my exhaust but with a quick look the other day it seemed fine.

Edit: Toolmaker has the same engine setup and was seeing boost very close to me....

you also have to remember that you have intake and exhaust ..which will effect your boost levels since it flow more on both sides of the SC

True, the exhaust isn't installed yet though, but i am hoping it drops the boost some. The intake was only raising boost like .5 psi before stage2. I can't remember who but another person with the same setup as me was seeing like 16.7 psi or so with just stage 2 and the injen intake.

The a/f ratios should be safe with a 2.8 inch pulley with the reflash right? I want this same setup for my car as well. Hopefully I can get this before the 29th because I will be dynoing my car on the 29th

no i have no idea what that would sound like i am not extremely familiar with sounds coming out of my exhaust lol but i drove it some more today and it didn't do it so maybe it was just the computer learning the new program with injectors no cels so i guess i'm good to go.

glockglade, are you able to rev near 7k on the tach? With so much "wishy washy-ness" there have been people saying yes and people saying not quite on the GM Stage 1 rev limit.

With the reflash I think your good to go as small as you like. Like I said earlier I think the snout might stop you from going smaller than 2.8. The car feels alot more beefy with the tune.

With Stage 1 I have successfully been to 7K a dozen times since yesterday. There must be a few more rpm's left cause I still have not hit my rev limiter and II have been beating my car since 3 yesterday.

You either have some detonation or misfiring. Stage 2 + a 2.8" pulley and 16-17 PSI of boost definitly put your Air fuel ratio higher than 13:1 for the last RPM's. Be very careful man !!!
