what greased is saying is that tunes that you get from places like that arent always as fast as they could be..
but they are made to be reliable. There are a couple people in philly who could tune you, so you dont have to send away your pcm, im sure. honestly, you should go with ott stage 1 kit...
Better stuff, only 500...

no it comes with a tune as well...
you dont NEED them... but it a heat exchanger will always be helpful
also, if you can find a tuner, its ALWAYS RECOMMENDED you get the tune personalized more to the car.

I told you can tunes suck the only one i would trust is gm stage 3 so go buy it now.
ottp stage 1 is not worth buying unless you want a shitty tune.
I have had many different setups in my car for mail order tune and the gm stage 3 was the best one it is way better than stage 2.

Do NOT listen to that guy...
OTT puts ALOT of time in there work..
Ask someone who ACTUALLY HAS THIS KIT.. they will tell you how much they love it.

Obviously you dont know much about canned tunes if you are telling him to get ottp. The safest and best canned tune on the market is gm stage 3.Do you even know how much time went into the gm stage 3 ? Probaly not.All the vendors just slap a tune in your pcm and send it out and say oh you are good while gm was actually at a race track doing hot laps testing the car making sure it can handle WOT for many laps and stay cool. do you know of any vendor that does that?

actually.. ott does that...
you have had one bad experience and just wanna **** on everyone.
Obviously GM stage 3 is better... it also turns off your a/c. Its also tuned for a 3 inch pulley. Youll get more power from the 2.8 pulley, so the tune for that will be faster than the stage 3.
Not ALL the vendors screw you over. I bet if you asked the people who actually have the ott stage 1 kit on there car if it sucks and is like every other canned tune, every one of em will say no.

Fastecotec - Just so you know you are posting a tone of misinformation in this thread. It really is quite annoying. I am assuming you have never tuned a car before, let alone used hptuners. Otherwise you wouldn't be voting for gm stage 3.
Let me fill this thread with win. First off, CAN TUNES DO SUCK. It's way better to tune your car yourself, or have someone knowledgeable do it for you. Car specific tunes are the best, however if you HAVE to settle for a canned tune, settle for OTT's stage 1 setup. There tunes are far from the average run of the mill canned tunes. Sean and Josh are great guys and do a great job with tuning. I myself have checked out the ott stage 1 tune, have reviewed it and give it two thumbs up. You state that gm stage 3 would be faster then ott stage 1, not so much. If both cars were on a dyno, not using nitrous the ott stage 1 would be quicker for the fact that it uses a smaller pulley.
What it comes down to is this. If you don't know how to tune, and don't know anyone who does, you have to put your faith into someone else. You can put it into GM which is a great company and makes reliable products that many have tested or you could put it into a well known reliable trustworthy vendor such as ottperformance.com
The gm stage 3 tune isn't horrible, most can tunes are, however the ott stage 1 package is a MUCH better choice then gm stage 3. First off you get 60lb injectors which can hold higher horsepower, you get a pcm with a solid reliable tune, and a 2.8 inch pulley which most people recommend. If that isn't enough, its CHEAPER then the gm stage 2/3 setups. So all in all, you have a better if not equal tune from ott stage 1, you get higher flowing injectors that can handle higher hp from ott stage 1's package AND you get a smaller pulley which will produce more power, again from ott.
Moral of the story, most people will choose the ott stage 1 package because it is a much better choice. However some people just aren't informed.

Either way, that has nothing to do with anything.
OTT pros over stage 3:
60s = more reliable, can hold higher hp, flowmatched
Also comes with harness.
pulley = smaller, lighter weight pulley by far. It produces higher boost = higher hp theoretically.
Stage 3:
Adj rev limit - you can change rev limit on the fly, but if you wanted, you could have ott retune you, and im sure they will charge a very nice price..
100 octane mode
This will give you more power due to changing the tune and spark advance. You can also use meth to bump up the octane...
Other than that, the pulley is larger, heavier, less pounds per hour injector.
The OTT kit is cheaper, and will give you more power. Sorry YOU have been misinformed.

the 100 octane mode will be faster than the ott, because if you used that tuning with 93 octane, things would go very bad. If you could use 100 octane on the OTT kit, it would be faster...
Its the same thing as doing your tune for meth, it advances spark. SAME THING AS STAGE 3 100 OCTANE. which is why if you run out of meth, things, go very bad.
BTW i love my Air conditioner.
haha thanks...
I mean... seriously, its not like im making this stuff up.

Exactly. I still think the 2.8 would beat out stage 3 on 100 octane though, but I don't know for sure. I am putting down 280whp on my dyno with meth and a pretty solid tune. I am shooting for 300whp but I will need some head work for that on the stock s/c.
Why do you think the ott stage 1 tune is crap? You have obviously never seen it, nor have used it.
