gm stage 2 should i

ok i had my car for about a year now i've held off doing stuff do it, not b/c of lack of money, i guess i'm just lazy lol, but i decided to turbo it i wanted to go smalley pulleys and stuff, but hearing all the problems i decieded not to, i'm probally gonna start to turbo it late sept early oct. but in the mean time i can't take stock s/c anymore besides intake exhaust, engine mounts etc i want something more in the mean time, so you guys think i should just wait or have fun for the summer and do a gm Stage II upgrade to hold me off, and no matter what i'm still turboing in sept/oct

Well, it depends if you have money to blow or not. If you have the money, then get it. You can always take the kit off and sell it. Although, that's only 2 to 3 months away for the turbo. Such decisions.

True, but what about the flash? Only HP Tuners ppl can get the flash cause the dealers here refuse to move a Stage 2 flash from one car to the next.

That's what I was thinking. Someone with hp tuners could do it.

At only $550 for St. 2 (and maybe $200-300 for dealer install with WARRANTY INTACT!) the St. 2 has got to be the best mod that an SC could ever have.

So when I start modding, the St. 2 will be my ONE and ONLY mod!

I think S1 is a better investment. Just install the injectors yourself and take the car in for the tune.

YES! go stage 2.
Seriously. I just installed mine this past monday, and all I can say is the car feels like it was built for this kit.

I find that the whole ride is smoother. Accel is smoother, shifts are smoother, and the car really pulls. I seriously recommend you want to do anything to your car you should do GMS2!

Putting money into a car like the Cobalt is NOT an investment! Its money that will never be regained in selling a car like this. But hell its only $500 bucks so whats the big deal...

But to think Chevy even honors a warranty after a stage 2 upgrade is amazing knowing the owners will trash their cars even more afterwards.

putting money into any new car is not an investment unless you are going high money cars and even then you still lose your money but not as much. thats a known fact. people dont put money into the car hoping to get their money back, they put the money into a car because they like their car and the hobby of making cars look better and go faster.

They may honor somethings but not abuse after the fact. I've heard of many guys getting there warranty's voided because they break something launching.

Yes if you bring pretty much any car in for warranty work they look it over and will void it if they deem its been abused. Ive taken my Z06 in for warranty rear end and clutch with drag radials on it and all they asked me if I draged raced it. They did the warranty work.

or you could buy 60 lbers , and a 2.6 do all the work yourself and if you mess up your car you can go back to stock and take it in , i guess you missed common sense class that day

its actually at least 750 if you want to keep your warranty , install at a good gm dealer will run you anywhere from 150 to 350 and the parts are at least 525 so thats a good chunk of change considering you could get a 2.6 pulley , 60 lbers harness , belt , 2 hp tuner credits to tune your car for under 500 and you would be making around 20-30 more WHP that someone with stage 2 for 200 dollars less , just stating facts , thats if you want to go fast at least ,

Your priorities are apparently different from that of other people's (mine included).

I ABSOLUTELY WANT the dealer warranty, so I'm not interested in doing my own mods (no matter what the savings).

HAHAHA.....ah man.... yeah. Chevrolet will never figure out you ruined/abused your car because you changed your pulley and injectors - good one, lol....
Anyway, go ahead and run your 2.6, have fun. Some of us like reliability too. And I for one like to have my SC's teflon coating intact for more than a few months lol. Yup we are all stupid here, and so is GM - I guess you are a better engineer than the guys at Chevy - so sorry for trusting them over you.

not for all people, if you dont get the right pulley oftentimes people have to machine their snout, and you have to have a near perfect tune to keep your internals safe, & supercharger spinning at close to 17k rpm at 7k rpm (redline FTW). instantly if a dealer went into your pcm they would see hpt.
