The m90's snout is too big and the blower won't bolt up to the stock manifold without an adapter plate.

Wait for turbo conversion kits to come out for the 2.0L

I think it would be nice if the cobalt comunity didnt rely on GM to spoon feed us all our mods ... I think it creates a lazy aftermarket ..

(*though it would be easy to argue that this was not the case for the SRT)

i'm kinda unsure about how much hp the block and head can handle. I have a friend here at school who co-op's with GM in NY and he says the LSJ blocks and heads he's seen come through for inspection are **** and the only reason GM is using them is cuz they're cheap as **** to make, hence why they are ****. He actually said that the ecotec head and block are stonger than that of the LSJ. i think once people start running serious mods...i.e. turbo conv....you're going to see more blocks and heads going.

LOL you guys need to calm down in here. So the guy's info is wrong who cares.

What you need to do is tell him the truth without "go kill yourself" **** in there. Some people I guess.

im pretty sure the block can hold way more then you can throw at it. the crank and rods can easily push 500ish(guess). the only thing i see thats holding the lsj bak is the pistons...

I read somewhere that the stock internals have held up to around 280 or 290 hp after that you gotta go to the build book

I seriously wouldnt expect GM to put a motor with internals that can handle 500hp daily in their Cobalt SS/SC. Its just not a good way of doing business, alot of money can saved making a motor that can only handle stock power. In this case GM Stage kits, so what 40 more hp? Since GM is a busniess I'd imagine they want to make as much money as possible.

Not saying you cant go far and above that but I wouldnt be surprised to start seeing serious longevity issues. If I get 50k-75k out of my motor I'll be surprised (once I've installed a different turbo)...Theres always a price to play....

Not saying the motor is crap at all. But very few motors have been proven to be "bullet proof" from the factory. MOST of these are not forced induction (the engine killer)....Since its so easy to make big power in a f/i car, without doing any internals....

Has anyone ever questioned why there is so much room in the engine bay on the belt side of the motor?
