GMPP Exhaust

Ok Well I did a search. Even on multiple websites looking for a video of a SS/SC with the GMPP Touring system on it. I can't find one they are all performance. Does anyone have one besides the one from CED?

The reason being is I don't really want me car to be loud when I'm just cruising around and what not. But I want to sound nice when I decide to open her up from time to time haha..

Thanksss

Ya thats what everyone says. And from the videos I have heard on the net of the performance one I can say I agree. I just don't want that nasty drown on the highway or anything, that's one thing I can't stand. Is anyone getting that?

I have the touring on my base 'balt, but I've heard the performance on an SS/SC a few weeks ago, and it was pretty sweet. I think you should go with the performance exhaust because it sounds great and its cheaper than the touring.

Get the performance for sure. It's not super-duper rice loud. Everyone that's heard my exhaust always comments on how good it sounds. It's decently quiet when you are just riding... but it'll rip a good note when you get on in... especially at the top of 2nd and 3rd.

Alright, Well I will deffanatly consider getting the performance before the sale ends at CED. The only reason i'm really concerned is because my gf HATES loud cars. And I promised I wouldn't make this one all that loud. Is it much louder then stock when your just cruising and shifting at 3000rpm?

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you xmusic. I haven't heard any touring exhausts before and I want something quieter because I don't want it screaming at me. I just want it to be noticed.

i got the Touring...

let me see if I can make a vid for ya... in car and out

I barely notice the exhaust as I'm driving down the highway, but when you do get on it - it sounds nice

by the way, both GMPP exhausts are "Performance" (its in the name) - there's Touring & Sport... I think some folks get confused by that sometimes

Re: sound clip on CED, I've read/heard that its on an automatic and not a SS/SC, but I can't verify it - there's a thread about it on here...

Thanks portergraph that would be awesome if you can make the video. The CED soundclip is not enough for me.

That would be greatly appreciated. I have heard that the sound clip on CED is an auto, it even sounds like it is. I do agree with wallas to as it is not enough for me to make the decision and spend the extra money lol

I have the GMPP performance sport exhaust and it is louder than I wanted it to be.... go WOT and people will hear... go WOT in a tunnel or along side a wall and its freakin loud. I prefer a stealthier exhaust note. You can drive off the throttle and short shift when going by or driving along side a cop and they won't even give me a little glance
On the other hand...I do like it, it gurgles when you jump off the throttle at 3K and above... the car feels smoother and has more pep!
I don't know if mine is louder than most because I also have the GMPP honed exhaust manifold!
regardless... it's a great mod with whichever one you go w/ and you get to keep your warranty

I'm also interested in getting the Touring Exhaust. It'll be great to see a vid of it in action. Im still new to all of this so bear with me. lol.

What is it exactly that produces the sound? Is it the entire assembly of just the Tip? Does the tip add anythign to it or just there for show? The reason i ask is cuz my LT has that tip that comes with the sport package and when i compared it to a regular cobalt without one mine did sound different so im just curious is the Sport/Touring will have the same outcome with/without a tip on it.

Another reason i ask is that im interested in getting the real lip of the Razzi kit. But when getting that i have to als get that dual exhaust pices with the one non-functional part. Can the GMPP Exhaust connect up to that ok? Will it sound the same (Hence why i asked if the exhaust tip is necessary.

Thanks in advance.

I got the K&N Typhoon CAI - I know my sig tends to make people think otherwise... also, there's stg2, GMPP exhaust manifold and Touring catback (obviously )

I'm currently uploading the outside vid and I also have one with windows open and sunroof down...

Yea, I like the Touring as I'm on the road for extended periods of time and like I mentioned, at cruising speed, you barely even notice it! Of course, until WOT

Yeah we already talked about that. That's the only source to listen to the exhaust. We want some videos from inside the car and outside the car.

I have a question though. I know it doesn't come with a tip, their sold seperately, but can you use the one on the stock exhaust, or is it welded on?

stock is welded on and with both GMPP exhausts you'll need a tip - I like the tips GM/CED offers as they have the chevy symbol on them (looks like its supposed to be stock, but in person, they seem REALLY big - its like 4" in diameter, I think, never measured it) but I've heard of other members using something from an AutoZone or someplace similar...

PS - I've got the angled one... I don't think there's a sound difference between straight and angled
