Going with the smaller pullies!

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if i went and got the 2.5 pulley would it fit on GM's stage 2 hub, and if so would i still need the Adjustable Tensioner and things or will the tensioner that comes w/ it be fine for that? And also will i need to get better spark plugs?

Umm you would def need 60lb injectors and yes a tensioner pulley, but no there is not a 2.5" pulley that will fit the S2 hub, hope this helps

I would go with the 2.8" pulley that they make for the GM hub, 60# injectors, and a tune.

If you're worried about money, get a 2.8 or 2.79 pulley and get her tuned for them. You don't necessarilly need 60lb injectors if you get the car tuned appropriately for it. If you go any smaller, you WILL need 60's, no if's and's or but's...I said butt...lol

the 2.8 is pushing the 42's too much, if your going a 42.5# injectors, then go with the 2.9" pulley, if not you have to get 60# injectors

i'd recommend getting a step colder plugs, and gapping them a little closer than factory spec, also i recommend the 2.8, but if you must go small, the smallest i'd go is 2.6" i hear that heat issues start decreasing horsepower with 2.5 at higher rpms, and if you do go with the 2.6 i'd recommend a upgraded heat exchanger to see the largest benifits

When you switch to aftermarket injectors it is manitory to get a tune, your gm ecu wont run those 60lb injectors, you will need a harness for those injectors, a tune (HP Tuners, or aftermarket) and then you can go with a smaller than 2.8" pulley, you will probably need a shorter belt or some sort of tensioner. keep in mind the more boost you make the more heat is generated from the supercharger, some sort of cooling mod would be a big help like the gm dual pass endplate or a aftermarket heat excahnger, or meth injection to cool that hot incoming air charge, the factory intercooler is only good for so much boost and not what you plan on running.

Personally i wouldnt go lower than a 2.7" pulley, thats about the max the supercharger was designed to operate, plus you will wear out the bearings in the supercharger way faster with any smaller of a pulley. just my 2 cents

Thanks so i think ill take ur word and go w/ the 2.7 pulley and the 60lb. injectors. I already have 42# in there now, and the gm shorter belt. Would u still get it tuned or no?

no you need to tune it , put the new pulley , put the new injectors AND the new spark plugs ALL AT ONCE

i can tell you dont know what your talking about just by the title of your thread , your getting ONE Pulley NOT pullies (multiple)

Well you will have to get it tuned if you are going with 60lb injectors, but a 2.7" pulley and a tune, and a gm dual pass mod would be a good setup, now find a good tuner in your area with a wideband and a dyno. Do you have any exhaust mods? that would be benfical in running this setup. Done right you will be in the 265whp range
