Good News From Autometer!!

I e-mailed them asking about pillar pods for our cars and I got this response!

Hello Matt,

We apologize for not replying to your earlier. We will have a Chevy
Cobalt pillar mount available next month. For your reference, the full
dual pillar will be part number 12204 and the full triple pillar will be
part number 12205. Hope that helps!

Thank You,

Ahad Mirza

Price will be the same as pillars for all the other cars I am guessing. Personally I don't care how much they cost. I need one, haha.

I wouldn't put guages in an airbag pillar regardless. Come to think of it. I wouldn't put air bags in pillar to begin with, haha.

The bags are not in the pillars, there was a picture somewhere on this site that showed the bags deployed, they come from the top of the headliner above the side windows, the pillar doesn't even move really, maybe an an inch out or so, but nothing to be worried about. I think maybe just the sensor might be in the pillar. Autometer didn't say if it was for the SS SC or just the SS or LT or what? Side airbag compatable? please find out.

Sounds cool.

I was just talking with a cmpany the other day about making a gauge pod that would hold 2 gauges on put them at the lower corners of the stock cluster.

I wonder what this piller pod will cost?

Later

Wideband gauge, boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, tranny temp,....etc. Anything you want. Most people will probably go for a wideband.

have had the pillar off, there is a cable anchor near the top of the pillar to keep the airbag positioned, thats it its not in there...

Can you leave the boost gauge on with this and if you can, will it take up one of the three slots? How hard is it to hook up things like this with the boost guage and a wideband (for a/f ratio, right)? Can I do it myself? Any more suggestions for a gauge with my
mods? Can you explain what knowing my oil and tranny temperature is important? A gauge that tells me mpg would be nice...any links to a good one?
Sorry for all the questions

There is a button with an I (information I guess) on it on the dash in mine, when you scroll through it it tells you MPG, ol lif, average speed, miles left till the next time you need to get gas.

I think a aeroforce scan guage, wideband, and boost guage would be about all you need
