I recently scored a Lsj short block from my work. I work at a chevrolet dealership in NY. A customer came in after his car would no longer run when he cracked the radiator and ran the motor until the coolant was depleted. The customer bought a used engine and no longer needed his. I took the LSJ tore it down and now have a question. the crankshaft has some discoloration to it but all bearings and races appear to be fine. Is this as good score? and if i needa crankshaft where should i be looking?

 

get a stock crankshaft. its good for a LOT of power, and cheaper than any aftermarket one you'll find
