good to hear man. glad you got it working.
Thanks man.

do u still have the supercharger???
Yeah i still have it,but im probably gonna hold onto it,in case i ever have to go back to stock.

I originally was gonna mount it the way you did, but the compressor housing of the turbo was hitting the coolant pipe in the back, DP I wasn't around for them making it, but he was supposed to have it done friday since I couldn't make it back last week. As for the intake, Kenny from C/A is making a T/B adapter elbow something like tag's. For tuning, I still need to get mine done first, once I figure it all out though, I'd be more than happy to give you a hand tuning your car. Also I have a gutted S/C that I honed out the outlet on it if you don't feel like destroying your S/C. Hopefully tomorrow I get it running and at least driveable, haven't really even seen the car for like 3 weeks and the 8 mpg I get with the monte just ain't cutting it as an everyday driver.
Yeah man,the coolant pipe seems to get in the way of everything, lol.I got the tb adapter from tag. What are you using to block off the bypass port on the intake manifold with?I got some sort of plug from tag.You just tap it in,and the throttle body adapter helps hold it in place.I appreciate any help i can get with the tuning.I hope u get it running tommorow.Heres a pic of the tb adapter and the plug for the bypass.

Nice job guys. Quick question. What turbo's did you chose?

My plan is to go ptrblk's route.
Super 20g from hahn.

Looking at the bends in the pipe you have there your Going to need some more of those Vibrant bend part number 2346. they are a tight radius bend.

You should also grab a heat blanket for the turbo exhaust housing. Don't wanna catch the fire wall material on fire.
Yeah, its a very tight bend. Thanks for the part number of that pipe. That will come in handy.
I was thinking about the blanket for the turbo.Ill probably pick one up for it.

06blackg85ss AND ptrblkz24

PM me if you have any fit-ment questions or need any help.

if i can squeeze a 30r back there i can help you with this.
Thanks man,ill def hit you up if i have any questions

Looks good. Only question I have is about what your plan is for the air filter and intake piping!
Im not sure about that yet.If i can somehow run a pipe over to the pass side compartment, ill do that.If not i might try to run an intake pipe under the motor and attach it to the factory intake tube.Im gonna look into it tommorow and see whats the easiest thing to do.

Great looking progress gentlemen. Good luck to the both of you, and I can't wait to see what the outcome is!

These pictures almost makes me wish I went the turbo route as well, but I already got to fab a turbo kit for my Integra earlier this year, so 'll stick to my TS project.

Keep up the good work. After doing my new project build, I will decide what direction I want to go with my Cobey.

There are too many people on here who would take the knowledge we have worked so hard on and turn it around and market it as their own. Keeping it secret and between the few people that need to know/have the knowledge to understand it keeps the above from happening

The above as in my comment, or Ranger's comment??

My new project has nothing to do with the Cobalt. I'm putting the Cobalt on hold and building something that will be much faster with the same amount of money. No worries, stickin with my GM routes. The Cobey may get some sort of swap down the road, but she being put on the side burner for now.

we are fabbing something up to cover the bypass, hopefully it is ready to go when I get there today, if not I'll probably tap it out and run out and pick up a threaded plug or something. Eventually I want to make a whole new intake manifold, but that will be further down the line. Just want to get it running first

The minimal lag and 300whp would be a more efficient supercharger with a ported head lol.

The heaton bores me. I'm leaning towards putting together a nice, budget turbo kit. Let me change that turbo to 300-350whp

Well im ditching this manifold.Im going with the rebel manifold. Its gonna be too much of a pain in the ass to get it to work.Theres very little room for the intake, and i would have to convert it to external wastegate because theres no room to mount it on the turbo.Im starting to regret starting this project, lol.

+1 add a 2nd HE, clutch and the rest of the support gear and you have one solid 300whp car.

I had said a more efficient supercharger, not the M62.

The M62 is out of is efficiency range past 10-12 PSI, but most of us Cobalt Riders are out of our logical range when we try to raise HP by thinking only boost without taking account the CFM and VE ...

Exactly why i have no reason to waste my time with it. I want a turbo but we'll see. I'm trying to price everything out first.

port the head out along with a solid header and you wont have to over spin the eaton to make that kinda power....

move enough air and you'll never reach out of its boundaries of boost efficiency.

well today turned out to be a total waste. Was supposed to bolt it all back up today, but my DP, intake adapter, maf pipe, and BOV adapter weren't even started yet, that and today was my last vacation day. I'm just leaving my car there now, let them finish it up. Maybe I'll get it back sometime this month.
