Oh man I hate going to the dealer! I know there are going to try and charge me. This sucks because I cannot afford to pay an hour labor. This is supposed to be free right??

no? and yes? have to go to the dealer to find out ... dont mention performance just mention you have harsh 1-2 shift bogging randomly and boost surging that you heard the update fixes.

If I don't tell them I have the Stage reflash they might just flash the wrong tune.

Tell them you have the flash just don't say you hear there is a better one. Tell them there is a glitch and you want to have the latest flash.

I really want this update to. Since April I have had the Stage reflash and the CEL was never illuminated, but saturday I checked my system with my friends TEC 2 and I had
P0171 and P0103 MAF High resistance stored so I want to see if this tune helps with this and the 1st to 2nd shift bog.

That's what you tell them.

And you want the latest software available cause you aren't really happy the way it is for the money you spent.

What are the part numbers listed on the other post supposed to match up to?

Are these individual fixes or is it a complete Stage re-flash replacement?

Thumbs down

I have an appiontment Monday to get this new reflash. The tech is trying to charge me for it and I told him no friggin way buddy. This is a fix from GM not a performance upgrade. So he said in that case I need preliminary numbers and TSB numbers, the whole nine. I said no problem I will bring in print-outs and BTW you're not charging me for it.

How can they ask a customer to bring in all of this info? What kind of crap is that?
I hate chevy dealerships. Now what if I wasn't a car guy and had no idea where to find this info you know? Thank god for cobaltss.net!

You know it. I have the print-outs ready. I think i'm going to lather them in butter and shove them up this guy's ass. Either way i'm not paying for a fix from GM.

I have a couple of questions, for distillion, Oni, Badmunkey, or anyone else who knows

Mine will be going in for this today,, which numbers are you guys giving your dealers?

I have the entire other thread printed out to take with me,, but what are they looking for?

the doc# 1861176 or was it the prelim #PIP3891A

And on the screen Oni posted which number did we need, or was it both.

Sorry if those are dumb questions,,, I haven't had any coffee yet today, lol

My brain will wake up in an hour or so I hope

I was just curious why there are two rows highlighted,, both had the same desc. with diff numbers

Do they need both, if not will my dealership know which one they do need?

Is the pink column is the original reflash number?

Maybe I missed it somewhere - the original thread title says 2006 - does this also apply to a 2005?

take the 2 copies, omni stated the origial flash, then on the updated flash he has 2 lines highlighted that address the issues some of us have been expieriencing, that is wat i did, gave them the 2 printouts, the doc num and preliminary num,
i just came back from a coffee break, i hit it hard , no bog, no hesitations, pulls harder and smoother, i am still gonna tweak a few things with hpt, like the maf fail frequency and a few other hidden elements gm like to hide from us like torque management, but ya, if you have the 2 printouts yer good, hopefuly yer dealer isnt useless and knwos wat they are doin.

I only see one copy and its identical to the one in this thread. Besides, I don't even know what number I need.
