header and DP

can i run a header and DP set up on the stock exhaust?

shroogis 02-25-2010 08:54 AM

Sure can. If it's catless it will sound like pure doo doo though. I have a header, gutted cat and stock exhaust. It's hollow sounding and really buzzy. Sounds like ass.

i dont want anythign to soudns shity i want a nice deep sounds so when i go by ppl are like whattttt..so any ideas>??

You'll need a different exhaust. The dynomax super turbo muffler sounds pretty good. Whatever you do, make sure you either have a catalytic converter, or resonator, or both. Catless with no resonator sounds way too raspy.

i dont have alot of $$ at the moment so if i run a header and catless DP and leave the rest stock for now would that work

It will work but it will sound like someone farting. You could pick up a dynomax super turbo for 40 bucks then pay a muffler shop 20-30 to install it.

Yeah as long as you choose the 2.5 inch bolt in

so header catless DP, RES and aftermarket muffler? cause i have an aftermarket muffler now, i was thinking of just leaving the stock resnator on it or will that still make it fart

????

No dude, the stock resonator doesn't affect the shitty sound of the stock exhaust with no cat. If you have already replaced the factory muffler (which is the culprit of shitty sound when using no cat), you're fine. Although, I'm sure an aftermarket resonator will flow better than the stock one, but I may be completely wrong...I've never looked through a stock resonator.

i ran a cti header and catless downpipe with the stock exhaust for a while, heres a few videos

off idle it sounded badass but when it got up about 3k+ to redline it was ok.

Yep, exactly how mine sounds
