Header Question

I have the Stage 2 upgrade for now. Are there any headers out there that offer PROVEN GAINS?

Thinking about going with the Vibrant Header-2.5 collector-DP-Anyone know the in/out on the DP? can't find it.

ZZP-Mid-Collector-3inch, DP 3in/3out.

ANy opinions on these as far as problems with installs, codes, ect?

What are you guys running in the way of exhuast size,? I will get my done at my shop. I was thinking about 3 inch all the way back but wanted some opinions on the size.

IBC that stock is 2.25. ANy issue with a 3 inch? ANyone running the 3 inch out of DP into a 2.5 on the cat back?

New to this car, coming from the GTP and LS1 communities.

Thanks

I have the stock header on my ss s/c with stg 2 i hear cobalt addiction is a great bang for the buck, vibrant seems to pricey for me, i have heard people like the zzp one, personally i am going to go with the pacesetter with a custom dp that this company makes thats around the area where i live.

btw i have a 2.5in exhaust, and you may get a code from the rear o2 sensor

actually the stock exhaust is 2.5 inch i think

stock exhuast bottlenecks down to 2.25" at the rear axle. How much power are you looking to make uncer 300 whp then a 2.5" is sufficent if you want more than that just get the full 3"

Under 300 for now.

Waht size then is the DP out and into the exhaust? Is it 2.5 from the dp then goes into a 2.25 at the back of the car?

Try ID tuning. 200 bucks for the header and 200 for a matching 3" catted DP.

I have a 3" header with a 2.5" exhaust. All ZZP products, except the cat-back, it's GM Performance. Love the sound, and the performance. It does throw the code P0420 though. No biggie..

I will say don't go 3", it will be too big, unless your planning to make some huge power (275+whp)

Hands down honestly the Vibrant is the best Header for the price.

If you look at EVERYTHING it includes (Header, downpipe, and high flow cat) and try to "piece" it together another place(s) you will see it is a very good product. It in my opinion, has the best gains. Hook it up to a Corsa Touring exhaust setup, and you have one very nice setup!

In the vendor section, we're working on a group buy for the ZZPerformance mid length header-downpipe combo.

No need for swearing. Using the F-word does not make your e-***** any bigger.

Going by the other threads you started you must not know how to use the search feature. Every question you have asked has been discussed many times before.

But since I am in good mood cause I really pissed you off I am going to offer my advise.

IF YOU READ THE LAST LINK I POSTED?

You will see how our stock exhaust is designed.

Manifold 425 CFM
DP 370 CFM
Cat-Back 300 CFM

So it is one bottleneck feeding into another. Everyone knows that the 3" exhaust is way too big for our cars unless you are making huge power. So shoot for a 2.5" system.

First off....If you plan on buying a GMPP cat-back don't waist your time with a manifold or dp. Most people don't know this but the stock manifold and dp flows higher then the GMPP cat-back systems. So they are wasting their money if they change anything before the GMPP cat-back.

Personally I would leave the stock manifold alone and worry about the dp and cat-back. Get a ZZP 3" catted dp with a 2.5" flange and a full 2.5" cat-back and you will be set. Here is what your flow rate will look like:

Manifold 425 CFM
DP 450 CFM
Cat-Back 450-500 CFM

Your most restrictive part will be the manifold at 425 CFM. If you wanted to get a little more out of that then you could go with a GMPP manifold and bump your whole system to 450 CFM.

If you want more then that setup then you are looking at a catless dp. If that is what you want to do then get a ZZP header with 1 3/4" primaries with a 2.5" outlet and a ZZP 2.5" catless dp and a 2.5" mandrel bent cat-back. You will be flowing about 500 CFM through the whole system and your car will be a monster. That is pretty much the cut off point before going to a 3" system.

Good luck.
