Which Header for Stock Downpipe, Stage 2

I know there are tons of header threads, but so much cluttered information. So I'm trying to get some specific information.

1] Which headers will bolt up directly to stock downpipe? (Besides the ones I found so far)

Direct Bolt-Up: GMPP, ZZP Shorty,

Does NOT: Vibrant, Pacesetter

2] Which would benefit a stage 2 car most?

And correct me if I'm wrong on what I found so far for #1...

Any paticular reason you want to keep the stock downpipe?

Might as well get all the restriction out while you under there.
As for header what are you looking for....more power at high rpm...mid range...or low?

JBP i think is the only header that has *equal length* primaries

I would like more low to mid end power....... and I will replace the downpipe eventually too.. I'm thinking the RAW 2.5" Downpipe, this would bolt up with my GMPP exhuast

Then in that case you want something mid length.

The shorty makes power in high range.
midlegnth is mid range.
and long tube is low end.

In which case the midlength header downpipe from ZZP is perfect or the Pacesetter 4-1. Either is a good choice the reason you want to change out the downpipe to is after the opening the header up the downpipe is the next restricve thing and already is in stock form.

Hope this helps.

If you are lookin for a good header at a VERY reasonable price check out clearimageautomotive.com talk to dan or beth they have a really good deal on their midlength header...under 200 bucks! And its quality work and the customer service is second to none

Good call, sorry i completely spaced the ball and socket setup they use but i bet if you called and talked to either dan or beth they would specially make one that would, they are very helpful and will work with anyone on just about anything, however i agree you should just get the combo if you are gonna do it.

The other thing is I'm worried about losing too much torque because alot of these have huge primaries and 3" outlets.... Could anyone suggest what size would be best for stage 2?

So how much louder did it get than when (or if) you were running just the GMPP?

Turbotech sells them for a decent price.
The car is only a few decibles louder with the Vibrant set up compared to the gmpp/zzp set up. the Vibrant set up did give it a lil more popping/backfire when letting off the gas which I don't mind. I did notice a pick up in the mid to low range.
