heat exchanger fluid?

i know that theres a dexcool mix in there from the factory. i've read a few posts suggesting that people get rid of the dexcool but no info on what to use in its place.

is this a bad idea? if not, what is a better cooling fluid?

Someone's gonna be dumb and ask why....

Soooo....
Tap water has minerals and stuff in it. It will scale and leave deposits in the heat exchanger.
