Heat Exchanger Options...

I just purchased a big front mount heat exchanger & a dual pass intercooler plate from ZZPerformance. My question is how to run the plumbing from the intercooler through the heat exchanger back to the intercooler. The way I look at it I have two options...

A) Keep the stock heat exchanger, run plumbing from outlet of intercooler to stock heat exchanger, from stock heat exchanger to big front mount, then back to intercooler.

B) Get rid of the factor heat exchanger and only use the big front mount.

I'm not sure if keeping the factory heat exchanger and using both will help with cooling or maybe be to much for the pump to handle. So I'm asking for advice, opinions, and personal experience. Thanks ahead of time.

2 is better than one.

the ONLY, and i mean ONLY time deleting your factory H/E would be worth it,
is if you replaced it with a MASSIVE one, that took up every single spare inch of room including the space that the old H/E takes up.
(even in this situation, i would still try and do something to have both)

if you can fit it in there, use both. no question

That's what I was thinking is it would provide more cooling having both. My only concern was can the factory pump handle that much extra coolant?

Definately use both, the sotck one is actually pretty large. It just gets hot from being sandwiched between the other 2.

Well thanks for the info guys. Made it easy for me to decide. Now another question...

For those of you who are running aftermarket big front mount heat exchangers how much of a difference did you notice in performance?

it doesn't add performance, well, a little bit, but allows you to maintain that performance longer before heatsoak takes over.
