If you have the extra money just buy the cobalt addiction front mount. All the parts are there and it looks sweet. I have one with cobalt addiction sprayed on the front. Check it out in my vb garage.

I am just really against purchasing form them given all the problems a lot of people on here have been complaining about. Some people waiting for months to get a product in and not getting E-mails or PMS returned.

Uh... Meth injection is a cooling mod! It took my IAT2s down about 30-40*

Area47 has methanol injection plus the front mount and has IAT2s lower than 100*

But anyway... The front mount is a much better cooling mod for the money! I got my front mount from a 04 Cobra for $25.00, over the dual pass which barely yeilds a 10* temp change... where the frount mount is 20*+ from the car I have seen with it on!

Sorry for all the dual pass fellers.... but the car around me with the dual pass.... We actually saw little to no actual temp decreases!

That car was actually a full Stage 3 GMPP car! I was rather unimpressed... so that is the reason I did what I have done!

Go with the Cobra h/e. Got mine off ebay for 80, and bwoody brackets that are made specifically for it and the balt. Went with ss hose. It looks great and works exceptionally well. The iat temps are really low, especially with the weather as cool as it has been. A very good mod for the money.

This is my rundown take it or leave it. I've learned it form experience.

When you drive you car does you heat exchanger get hot? No, it doesn't, because the stock intercooling system is made for that heat exchanger. If your stock h/e is doing its job efficiently their is no need for another one.

When you add a dual pass plate you may notice that the stock H/E get hot pretty quickly. Thats because you new intercooling system is doing more cooling work and the stock h/e doesn't have the ability to keep up with it.

After you have upgraded to a dual pass then an additional h/e will be beneficial because the stock one will be insufficient.

some of what you said makes sense.
but some of its a bit off.

the stock H/E is doing its job efficiently, yes, but that doesnt mean theres "no need for another one"
10-15* drops in IAT2s are obvious proof of that.
if the stock h/e was enough, those kinds of results would never be possible.

both of them combined is obviously the best choice.

but this thread isnt about whether this guy should buy both
its H/E VS Dual Pass.
Not only does the secondary H/E seem to provide more effective measurable results....but its alot cheaper.

I'll get Area47 in here... he'll shed some light on this subject! I know and have seen the results first hand...

The stock heat exchanger does its job to a certain point... but when you are putting down serious power additional cooling is needed beyond the capacity of the stock exchanger, the dual pass may help I guess it couldn't hurt... but significant temp changes I don't see because the exchanger is already hot, putting an exchanger out front getting the first burst of cool air is going to do it's job better than being sandwiched between to other radiators so to speak!

Do the frount mount (sorry edited), get it data-logged and you'll be surprised at the results... I dropped 30-40* with methanol injection..... so another 20-30* with the front mount... Hellz yes!

Guess I have never been accused of thred jacking before. sorry. I thought my question was relevant to the question at hand. There is a spot in the poll that says "other" rather than start a new thred to clutter up the boards a little more, I just thought I would ask my question in a post comparing cooling mods. again, sorry if this is a way off the wall idea.
