::Heated Recaro's???::

I ordered my 07" SS S/C with the G85. I knew they stopped the Recaro's with that pkg, but I just figured I'd buy em or swap sum 1 for them. Well, The dealer this weekend when I picked up my car gave me Heated seats and side airbags (For no extra charge) and I wasn't expecting the heated seats! So is there a way I could have the Recaro's heated? and if not, you guys think its worth getting the Recaro's now that I have these heated?

You COULD get the Recaros heated, but it's a lot of time and hassle. You would, however, be one step of the game with the wiring and switches already installed.

I say just make do with what you got or find someone who would like to straight swap you for your seats.

Did the dealer put in the Remote start? Cuz i could get 1 from Best buy but i wanted to keep all that stock with the GM key fob. Damn, I was all set up to swap em and this is a bit of a curve ball.

I say i got that stuff for free, cuz I worked out a nice payment w/o that stuff, and when the car showed up with it, I stayed at that same payment.

I thought you couldn't swap the '07 seats for Recaros that easily because of the air bag sensor.

UMMMMMM OH SNAP! I didn't know that! I noticed on my car that I had the sensor on the dash and my bro's 05 didn't. I didn't even think about that 1

DAMN! So theres no way to just leave the airbag on for the passanger? Cuz I was all set up to do a swap and had no idea about all this. Man! this sux!

Because of the sensor.

All SS/SCs come with heated seats in the included equipment, unless you get Recaros.

Oh, I figured.

lol but i haven't got one real answer to my original question.

Would you keep the leather heated seats w/ passanger airbag sensor, or would you swap out for the Recaro's + some cash??

I don't think its going to be too expensive to install heat in recaros. You can probably get the wiring and the dash panel from ebay.

THE BIG QUESTION IS NOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THE PASSANGER AIRBAG SENSOR WHEN I SWAP IN THE RECARO'S THAT DON'T HAVE THEM???? Is there a way to just leave the airbag on all the time? Cuz I wanted a winter car anyway, so heated seats do me no good. Recaro's > All

bump

The only way to swap the seats out and keep the sensor is to figure out how the switch actually works. They usually are weight based but probably just a switch none the less. Next step is to figure out if it's(the switch) normally open or closed(my guess would be open), if it's open then just close the circuit and car always thinks someone is sitting in the seat. Normally closed and unplug the connector and "Bob's your uncle". Now all of this might be logic based through the BCM and if thats the case good luck trying to figure out what inputs the program needs for said function. I don't have any wiring diagrams for this car but if someone posted them I would take a look and give my .02 instead of a random stab in the dark.
