Help!!

where is the timing chain located on the ss/sc balt and how hard is it to fix?

you need a mechanic, if asking this...No offensive at all, theres just too much room for error if you dont know what your doing, You can easily destroy your motor with off timing for example, bent valves.

Pick up a haynes manual

when you look at your valve cover facing the car, you will see a rise on the left of the cover, thats where the top of the chain is, and then it goes down from there.
its definitely labor intensive, Im pretty sure they remove the motor.

thats what i have to do is change the tensioner...i heard it was not a big deal to do

the same side i was talking about, look down 6in's on the side of the engine there will be a round looking item, that's the tensioner

thats a good question,
I have never replaced one on this car, I know you will have to drain the oil, but im not sure if you need to remove the valve cover, set the marks up to time and then remove the old one tensioner and pop the new one in.


(this is why it helps to ask your question in the thread title, more will come in and help then lol)


just keep bumping till you get an answer i dont want to misguide you, it could be as simple as i said above then you can do it and save cash or it maybe more tricky, have you searched around here? im sure someone has done it.
