Help?!
You mentioned that you didnt see anything leaking/spilled under the car. Check under the back portion where the fuel lines come out of the fuel tank. That is where mine was leaking from. I let mine go for a couple months because I thought I was smelling gas from my lawn mower since I always park in a garage. It will progressivly get worse. Eventually itll be difficult to start your car if it hasnt been running due to loosing your fuel prime.
If you want to test for this you can get a fuel pressure test set, check your pressure when you turn your ignition to on (should go to 50-60psi)
Then should HOLD above 50 for several minutes after fuel pump shuts off.
It probably wont. But if your starts are ok it might
There is a "Special Policy" for this problem.
The problem is a cracked fuel pump housing. They say it happens in some states because of the heat. Since I'm in Alabama they fixed mine for free. But go to the dealership with nearly an empty tank, they need to drop the tank to do the work.
Because it's state spific you may or may not be able to get the repair free of charge.
^ well i live in california so i doubt they would fix it for free but thank you for your help i thought it was just me smellling the gas until somebody else noticed it & its been bugging me ever since i also feel that, thats another reason i might be getting crappy gas mileage
I had the EXACT same problem. I looked up the recall I took it to a dealership. My cars history has only been in northern states. Virgina beening the furthest south. I showed the dealership and the called GM and boom some swwet talking and "goodwill" I got it all fixed for free. It doesn't hurt to try!
