HELP Flcobalt Almost Hit's 14's and Manages to Break the SS!

So last night at the track was AWESOME!

my first run was 15.3 and my second was a new best of 15.018!!!

**EDIT** THat is what the SRT 4 RAN
SRT4 ---------------- ME
.536-r/t --------------- 5.32
2.421-60ft --------------- 2.628
6.526 --------------- 6.691
9.826-1/8 ---------------- 10.289
77.00 ---------------- 58.09
12.636-1000 -------------- - 14.092
15.032 --------------- 17.525
93.97mph 62.48 mph
( my car broke right before i hit like 1/8 i think)
I ran vs a civic for my best time ever.
.593
2.389
6.521
9.808
74.42
12.649
15.018
95.67

Now heres where it gets good! Ok So its my last run of the night and i still have hit personal goal of 14.9 or better. Im at the front of the line and the guy lines me up with a silver Srt 4. Im nervous as hell, i felt like theres no way in hell im winning this one.

We line up, Yellow, Yellow , GREEN!
We take off at the same time he pulls just a little, I CATCH HIM AT THE END OF FIRST
2nd gear we are tied up and i begin to pull, By the end of 2nd i am a nose ahead of the SRT4!! The Terror hits... I switch into 3rd and the gear gets stuck, Now this has happened before but i usually let off the gas and then throw it back in but i wanted to win so bad i just slammed it into 3rd.

The car jerked HARD, something popped from under my car, it broke and made a big falling noise under the car.... i lost the race =( The srt 4 ran a 15 flat, if i would have beat him i would have surely been like 14.8.

Im not sure what broke but the shifting on my car SUCKS now, i think i f*cked the transmission up. The car still drives the same as far as power as far as i can tell but when it comes to shifting gears it feels more rigid then my old 89 civic =/

*** WILL POST VIDEOS LATER**

im no mechanic but as far as i can tell i cant see anything broken or missing under the engine or the car. Could i have blew out the cat or something from all the pressure?

Somethign definately broke but i cant find what did. Again the shifting is the only thing thats been affected. Like all the gears are stripped or something. its not smooth at all.

It's most likely not your cat, your car would be REALLY loud, and i don't think that would affect your shifting.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but its not something as simple as a cat something probably fell within your transmission and if it were ur cat ur shifting wouldnt be screwed up. but congrats on the time just get ur 60 down.

Not if they determine that it's from track abuse or abuse in general! Make sure you clean your wheel wells of track rubber before servicing!

I am sorry to say but it not anything you have discussed so far.

I have a few questions.

Is it had to shift in all gears? if not which gears?

Can you down shift easily into all gears? if not which gears?

Possible problems: lingage or cables that shift car on the outside of tranny. (easiest to fix)
Shift forks inside tranny bent. (tranny has to come out) Sychronizers damaged (there is more than one) only one could be damaged and make a hard shift into that gear. and finally it could have nothing to do with the tranny and everything to do with the clutch if does not disengage all the way (hydraulics, pilot bearing, etc.)

He actually has an SS S/C now.

I would hope it was the linkage, the cables are known to stretch/the cable ends bend/break.

If something broke internally in the trans, you better get it taken care of before whatever broke tears up the rest of your trans.

EDIT: Never force the car into gear. If you are "hitting a wall" you are most likely not pushing the shifter to the right far enough.

No gear is especially harder then the other but none of them are smooth any more, + when i put it in reverse it made a loud funny noise ( only once).

Again shifting feels like an old car not the smoothness of a new ss.sc.

OKay so what you are saying is you have no problem getting into gears (nogrinding no popping out of gear, no resistance like hitting a wall, etc.) the shifter is just stiff but other wise driving once in gear is normal? is this accurate?

I think you blew the welds on your intake manifold........and then your floorboards must have fallen out. Yea, that's it for sure.

You think your body kit broke!!! Maybe you should return the SS/SC back for the 2.2. The SS might be too powerful for you
