Come on people.. Need Some help here.

MBC i Used http://www.voodooboost.com/boost_con...MBC/index.html

I installed this thing where JMC007 and Denny say to. Is there anyone else that has used one that has or can get me pictures of it installed. I have pics in my gellery of the 1000 ways i tried it. but every way i still get 15+ lbs of boost on my interceptor. Could my intercepter be telling me incorrectly because it is ODBII and not manual?

All that supposing that the MBS is installed on the right hose, the one between the by-pass valve selenoid (black rectangular box) and the by-pass valve actuator (balck cylindrical device on the supercharger).

Hope this help.

Thie is what I have so far

It looks like in the last pic, you have the right hoses, but the controller is backwards. It should go into the bottom part from the black box, and then out the side to the bypass valve.

I hope you didn't pay to much for that thing, as you can easily tell it's just a brass "T" from the harware store with the valve/knob in one end painted black. You could have made it for like $3-$5 bucks.

What pulley are you running on the SC? We sell the perrin MBC and have never had a comeback on one. If you are interested, you can check it out at highperformanceoutlet.com. I am getting about 17 psi on mine.

I am running the 2.9 I am going to run the 2.7 but i want to make sure the MBC works before going down to the 2.7.

With it installed like 100 ways i still read 15+ it was wet out still last night so i didn't get on it all the way to the top, but i usually see 15.5 to 16.1 all the way up there in 3,4, and 5 at 600rpms and up. Aren't i supposed to only see 12 with it all the way out.
Like i said, could it be that my gauge takes the boost from the computer. not manually.

I don't know what else to try.

I am pretty sure that your gauge is giving what the engine is producing, but if you want to verify, buy a cheap pressure gauge and tee into the line, then just tape it to the cowl where you can see it. It is quick and dirty, but will answer that question once and for all. Just out of curiousity, what are you running for an intake?

We don't have the Cobalt page put together on our site yet, but as far as the MBC's go, I checked last night and we have both the Perrin and the TurboXS in stock. The TurboXS is available in about 3 different configurations. Just look under the EVO or STI pages and you should find them.

can i skip the by-pass valve selenoid al together. my buddy who is crazy into DSMs.. and turbo ****. told me to skip the by-pass valve selenoid and connect the line directly from the manifold (the one that goes to the firewall side of the by-pass valve selenoid) to the by-pass valve actuator (balck cylindrical device on the supercharger) he said this will let me run "spring rate" and i shoulod only see a few pounds. well i did. and it worked, on my boost gauge i was only getting like 3.8 WOT in 2nd and before i was getting 15+

i drove it around a few minutes and got no cel or anything. since i never disconnected the plugs to the by-pass valve selenoid.

Is this safe to install the MBC there, and use that to tune the boost. or do i need to go through the by-pass valve selenoid

If you bypass the by-pass valve (no pun intended), you are solely dependent on the MBC to control boost and I am not 100% sure that it would handle any boost spikes that could occur. This is getting to the edge of my comfort level with regard to specific knowledge with the bypass valve, so take these comments with a grain of salt. If anything, I am trying to be conservative here.

Thanks. I think it would be the same as just doing the Boost bypass mod. But instead of plugging the line so the motor doesn't bleed boost. installing the MBC so i can limit the boost and run the 2.7

Your logic makes sense. Like I said in my PM, you are somewhat charting new ground here and the consequences can be costly if the wrong thing happens.
