help me out.

I got some money becouse I sold some old car stuff.

I want to get rid of this wheel hop.

Should I go with the TTR upper mount, or the ottp stage 1 mounts, or the ottp stage 2 mounts??

( Stage 2, with a stage 3 pulley, Ca V1 header, ottp h/e. ingalls td. injen cai. )

I went w/ TTR's mounts. TTR's trans mounts are cheaper and just as good. OTTP says that there mounts dont have as much vibrations but i dont see why they would.

I just sent a message back to you on cardomain. hah.

they're not just as good, they serve a completely different purpose. One fixes wheel hop, one increases vibration.

You only want stage 2 if you're going to the track regularly, and you plan on running slicks or drag radials.

How hard are they to install?? and they can be run with the ingalls safely?

I wish they had some before and after videos of them.

you can run them with an ingalls if you want, but you'll have to adjust it.

There are a few how to's here for them, they're easy to install.

there are some video's floating around, but keep in mind, these use the same concept as the mounts used on all of the koni and grand am cars, and the original Time Attack car.

Believe me, the difference os phenomenal.

Cool. I really am curious now. Guess I will look into those.

One last thing, if I go over 300hp do I need to upgrade to stage 2?

And what happens if I went ahead with stage 2?

I do plan on hitting 300 as soon as I come into more money.

I would say no... If you don't plan on using your car racing on the track or drag then no you won't need them just like ls1fbody explained.

dude, if you fix the wheel hop you will get more vibration because you are bracing the frame and engine together. technically if you get more vibration, that means you will have less wheel hop because everything is solid.

your logic is flawed. The mounts being soft is not the root cause of wheel hop. Stiffening the mounts does not correct the problem at all.

You are 100 % right... You need to firm up the tranny mounts also to be effective against wheel hop.
That is why the other brand uses a smaller/firmer bushing in their tranny mounts; and is why they state there will be a small increase in vibs (firmer bushings). If movement was not a factor, they should have used the stock bushing.

OP we can get you the hook up on these:

http://www.turbotechracing.com/produ...78&idcategory=

No "stage kits" to buy, these fully align the axle right away, and stop the unwanted drivetrain movement.

PM us, or for the fact of the matter anyone else also wanting a set, we can get you a great discount.

Aaron that is factually not correct. The OP is asking to be helped. You are providing misinformation.

If the stock bushing OEM was used in the OTTP mount there would be insufficient material to permit rotation in the mount and insufficient space in the cradle or the bracket to permit the mount to be made that way. Stick to comments on your own mounts, you clearly dont understand what you are talking about when discussing OTTP mounts.

In addition for all the fancy words used, the fact is that stiffer material in itself will not eliminate power hop. You can bolt the motor in solid unless you deal with the 17 degree horizontal axle angularity with the M35 out put shafts you wont fix the problem.

By the way the OTTP stage 1 can sell for less than 200 dollars, why pay more than you need? And no vibes....

Well, qwik nailed it on the head. Its the rotation that corrects the problem. Sure stiffening the mounts up some will help overall, but only the correct driveline angle will fix the problem. How many times are we going to have to beat this dead horse?

Besides, the OTTP mounts are made of higher quality material. Why buy an inferior product?

Do I just take off the stock mounts and replace them with the ottp ones?

Simple as that?

I have TTR engine and trans mounts. just looking at it, it doesnt adjust the driveline at all. and I have NO wheel hop whatsoever...

yes. you do need to follow factory service manual procedures to re-balance the mounts...and you should not lock the passenger side top mount with a poly mount bad things can happen...save ur money and keep your stock pass. side upper mount...

Harryresh, if the TTR mounts dont adjust the driveline is this description wrong?
Turbo Tech Racing STOP Transmission Mounts.

Which stands for: "Strategically Torque Optimized Positioner Mounts”

These mounts are Strategically designed to have a Torque Optimized Position. They will reduce engine movement, due to the firmer bushings (Optimized), and also align the axles (Positioner); increase the torque transfer to the wheels.

More Information:
1.Firmer bushings/less wheel hop/more torque transfer 2.Works with the Turbo Tech Racing Upper Engine Mount
3.No "inserts" to press in, come full assembled, direct bolt in
4.No "stage" kits to buy, these fully position your Cobalt
5.Made in the USA @ Turbo Tech Racing, LLC
6.Strong light-weight aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum 7.Engraved with the “TTR” logo (Shown in Photo's)
8.Comes with a full color install sheet
9.Quality of Turbo Tech Racing is known to be the best
10.Closer bolt to sleeve hole diameter, for a closer precession mount. We do not use a generic bushing; it is custom/specific to this mount, unlike other companies who use off the shelf bushing/sleeves.
11.Choice of Red or Black Bushings 12.Alignment was done in house using a state of the art CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) (Faro Brand)
These have been track tested on many Cobalts already, ranging up to over 400+ HP! For references please let us know

some of the words are are weird: #10 " a closer precession mount"

here you go. see if this applies in your case harryresh:

precession: "noun 1. the act or fact of preceding; precedence.
2. Mechanics. the motion of the rotation axis of a rigid body, as a spinning top, when a disturbing torque is applied while the body is rotating such that the rotation axis describes a cone, with the vertical through the vertex of the body as axis of the cone, and the motion of the rotating body is perpendicular to the direction of the torque. "

copy:
"n . copy
1. An imitation or reproduction of an original

LOL TTR vs OTTP everywhere. This technical war is awesome!!! I'd love to see TTR's test results. Cane they compare to Time Attack/Grand Prix testing results??? Hmmmm discuss...

Not bashing either or, I simply request eliminating false advertising and proving results.
