Help on What can I do to my car Performance wise

oky I know there are some real car heads on here and The fact is I just got my 06 ss s/c last may and I have a 3.0 pulley on it now and just a straight pipe. My Question is and im open for suggestions... what are some of the things you can do to really get the ss to really run amazing.. its my everyday driver so i would love to not make my engine go boom and no more.. im thinking 60 lb injectors and hp tuners next? I would love for some help!!!

well i would just stick with performance mods, no need for hp tuners bc you really need to know what you are doing or ur car will go boom... I would go with a cold air intake (cai) to start to make that supercharger scream when u hit the gas, then get a header dp combo to free up some hp from the restrictive header and dp, alot of people like the vibrant header/dp combo, it sounds like you have stage 2 on so I would find a god tuner in your area and maybe drop your pulley down to 2.9 or wait till you get an aftermarket heat exchanger to help not make your engine go boom

what do you want out of the car?

if you want to go fast then id say header downpipe and meth injection

if you want to corner, tc sturts shocks and eibach springs with a nice rear sway bar would be a great place to start.

First off you need larger injectors... if you want to go anywhere fast...

You need a tune for those, so if your planning on gettin a header / dp, i would wait till you get everything installed right before u get it tuned.

a 2.8 pulley is always nice too, but you need the bigger injectors.

so pretty much your saying go with header first..then get my injectors and have a tune put on right...i mean i understand what your saying about getting everything i want and then tunning it...I have a 3.0 pulley now and was thinking about the 2.8 but i figured like you said i would wait till i got my header on first then get injectors/ pulley wheel/ get a tune

Well.. no... Almost though.....

Do your injectors first. Your cars stock injectors cant quite harness much more power than stock.

very true.. but then i would have to get a set tune for the 60's correct? it would run rough with a stock tune with 60's in it right? and then i would have to retune it after i got the header right?

also does anyone recomend what kind of header is good.? Also i was going for a really nice sounding exaust..not like your typical ricer kids that have a RIDICULOUS LOUD car and they are running like 10mph lol...but i do want that bad ass sound to it

Clear Image Auto has great headers at a bad ass price.. trust me...

Yes, tune for 60s.. and No.. i mean, youll probly have better gains with a tune for the headers, but you dont NEED it.

awesome man thanks for advice...i think that im going to go with header first..then get injectors 2.8 pulley and hp tuners and have it all tuned at once.. its one of those things were I save up money to do it..lol i wish I could just go do whatever whenever lol but i think we all do.. I think i got quoeted $400 for tuners and a tune on my car...and i found 60's for my car for $200 does that sound about right?

what kind of sound do you get with a header/downpipe exaust? Like 3 inch? I mean my car sounds really good now with jsut a straight pipe.

Yes..

If your going to pay 400 for the tuner, and 100 for a tune... You should just buy hptuners for 500... So that way you can go to any tuner you want and not have to pay stupid fees, like they are already trying to make you pay.

I take offense to that. I'm running 10 mph and my exhaust is loud. Definately NOt a ricer. 3" exhausts are like that.

I'd go with exhaust and injectors with a nice custom tune

well lol im sorry that you took offence to that.. what i meant is the kids who take a prob a stock one lol and end up putting a ridiculous exaust on it.. and my car is loud too bro i have 3 inch with just a straight pipe from cat...so mine is loud too but you havent heard anyone pass and they either need to shift or their exaust is stupid lol..

and to answer SHORT STACK...ya they wanted to charge a ridiculous ammont just for a tune without tuners...if you add it up your better to get hp tunners and tune it all at once you get everything... and if you think about it if you every change anything its easier to REtune it.. but i do know a kid who played with his and messed it up really really really bad..so its better left to pros..

I didn't read what other people posted so if I repeat what others said my bad. But I think the best thing for you to do would be to get a full exhaust, cold air intake, 60lbers, 2.8 inch pulley, hptuners, meth, heat exchanger, dual pass end plate with option b. If you can't afford the cooling mods AND the 60lbers and 2.8 get the exhaust or cai first etc. You don't want to put on the 60lbers and 2.8 without cooling mods because with multiple pulls your iat2's and your egt's will get very high and could danger your number 4 piston.

If you have any questions let me know.

Youll be fine with a 2.8 with no coolings mods.

I do it all the time.

But Zach is right... Better safe than sorry.
