Do like they have been doing for years. go to your parts store of choice, get a 22mm spark plug anti fowler(they usually come in two packs for about $5), drill the hole bigger to fit the sensor through it(usually a 3/8 hole is plenty), remove o2, put anti fowler in, insert 02 into anti fowler.

You dont want to turn the rear o2 off, just disable the actual code that it's throwing.

the 05-06 ss/sc you can completely remove the rear o2 from the system by disabling 6 codes. 07's get PISSED when you take out the rear o2
