High flow cat on factory down pipe

Has anybody put a high flow cat on the factory dp,and if so with good results?

I welded and hifh flow vibrant cat onto my factory downpipe and ran a mendral bend to the flange to get rid of the crimped o2 part. It worked good, but the car kept throwing codes because the cat wasn't doing it's job properly.

I have a magnaflow cat waiting to be installed,so should i have it installed or go another route?Oh and what did you end up doing?

Forgot to ask you 2k5ss/sc,are you still running the same set up?

This seems like a lot of work for little gain, the stock downpipe is a big bottleneck, better off just getting a catted 2.5 downpipe and just bolt it on, you can do it yourself

Yeah i have a guy wanting to buy my cat,i will probably just sell him the cat and buy a dp with cat from CA,thanks for all the info guys,later.

honestly, looking at the design of the factory piece, i can't think of a way to do it that will have a positive result.

the factory cat is an odd size, that can't just be replaced.

for the time and expense, something like the random technologies cat seems like a deal to me.
