I agree with u there but I don't have either of the stock exhaust parts. Anyone in the area have the stuff laying around? I'll buy a case of beer and then return it or anyone have one for cheap?

your running your engine too hot. high combustion temps = nox. what tune are you running? you really shouldn't even need a cat to pass nox, you shouldnt be making any in the first place.

I just got a pcm from zzp that has a canned tune on it. I don't know about anything else but I am failing by triple the allotted level. How do you cool the engine down to pass?

Not sure if this will help but, I just ran into the same problem, not a week a go. Here in Ontario our limit is 505 NOx, my car ran a 996 NOx. I took the car to my mechanic, checked over the whole car and found my o2 sensor was not working all of the time. I had the o2 replaced and put my factory air box back in and filled up with 94 octane. I took it back for a re-test and my NOx read zero.

My mods are GM stage 2, option B with added front mount HE, J-Body, even length header with GM sport tuned exhaust and factory cat.

I hope this helps.

That sounds about right, I bet my o2 sensors are not working properly then. I will take a look and possibly change them out. Heck why not both of them.

Red my problem was that they are making me pass the sniffer test not the odb2 reading. I had no history on my car and they said to pass they would have to do the sniffer test. I failed so now I have to pass the sniffer test before I can use the computer reading again. I am gonna try the u2 sensor because I know mine looks a little rough

You can get a car to pass emissions by using HP tuners to drop the advance to about 18 degrees total timing in the area the of the map where the crusing emissions is run. I got someone to pass who had over 2k NOX down to 500 by doing this.

rich would cause the hydrocarbons to be too high. lean causes NOx to go up.

I will give this a try. I know a guy in Youngstown area that has HP maybe he can help me out. If not does anyone in the Akron area have Hpt to help a brother pass an emission test. I hate echeck, I went to the big shot dyno day and no one there even has to pass it. What a jip this is pure BS!

Thanks Kev I'll give it a try.
