Horrible Dyno Numbers! HELP!

Ok so before I post the numbers, the guys that dynoed said their dyno had a 14% deffeciency. So anyway, 198.1 Hp and 190.7 ft lbs. With the 14% It's something like 225hp 215 tor. Does this sound in anyway right with my mods? I mean I'm running with really quick cars on the street and to me this makes no sense. I was expected more like 250 to the wheels. Not at the crank! Anyway, any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I'm in denham, and the heat has been killing my car. Could that have something to do with it?

if your using a CA tune your probably running dangerously lean, and if it was on a mustang dyno than yes, those #'s r right. its hard to pull any power out of the lsj

well depends on altitude, temps, and what kind of a dyno it was, what setting the guy used. also remember that stage kit tunes are really only a safe tune so cars don't blow up, I would reccomend getting it dyno tuned at some point to get the maximum out of your car

I wouldn't worry about what the dyno says if your running a 13.8 like your sig says. There are guys on here whose dyno sheets show 40 whp greater than yours and have not broken into the 13's.

You should have made around 225ish on a Mustang Dyno with those mods if tuned correctly. With the correction factor, you are right there. I only made 238whp and 230wtrq with a 2.6" pulley and similar mods on my local Musttang Dyno.

Remember dyno are a shitty measurement of a cars performance. If you didn't have stock numbers on the same dyno to compare by, then it's really pointless to try and guess where you should be at on that dyno.

your tune is screwed. or your car is screwed, id suggest a leak down test, and then have someone with a brain tune the car. you can't race dyno numbers. i proved this last weekend

Dyno numbers don't really mean to much. A dyno is a tuning tool not a pissing contest. Go to the track to see how your car is doing.

Listen to this man.

Another thing too is I don't see any cooling mods.
With a 2.7 and supporting mods you should have some kind of cooling mod.
Any of these would work.

Meth injection
Bigger H/E
Cry02 System
Nitrous

who cares about dyno #'s when you have track times. you can go to 5 different dynos on the same day and get 5 totally different #'s. go the next day and get different #'s again. dyno's are great for tuning, but don't let the #'s get to you whether they're good or bad.

why would you put any faith in a dyno that the operator essentially told you "hey, its inaccurate as hell, but we will stay let you pay us to use it!"

Cooling mods will definitely help you. I think methanol injection was the best thing i ever put in my car. Cools and lets you run more timing. Better all around for making more power.

Ok guys sorry for the delay. It was quite Humid (it's Louisiana for Christ's sake) and very hot, Altitude basically sea level or pretty close. I don't have any colling mods, but I do have the Cobra h/e sitting at my house. I plan on attempting the install this weekend. Thanks for the feed back. I'll post more when I have more time thanks!
P.S. yes on the CA tune!

yeah....that is what I have been told also.
I was disappointed w/ my numbers.... but, regardless... my car is very fast and I take those #s w/ a grain of salt!
4 of us (SC's) went to a Dynojet on the same day it was 92 degrees w/ 27% humidity
stage 2.5 = 235hp + 219 torque (2005 stage 2 w/ a 2.9)
stage 2 = 224hp + 200? (2006 stage 2 only)
stage 1 = 225hp + 190 torque (me ... 2006 see my mods below)
stock = 211hp + 210 torque (2007)

we were all convinced that the dyno was not correctly calibrated (20+ cars ran before us that morning). All the stage cars were expecting higher #'s.... I expected the difference between all the SC's to be much greater. How is the stock car so potent w/ the stock tune?

I have newer been to the strip to have 1/4 mile #'s and times... so, I can't add what my car is capable of there. Your 13.8 is very impressive to me!

I raced the stock one 3 times on the way home and I constantly pulled him at the top of the RPM range in each gear... but for all my mods, the stock SC was plenty fast for no mods! So, I was a bit disappointed there

When we had our Midwest Cobalt meet we had pretty much every car in KC was in the 240's!

Every car is different and every dyno is differnt. Heat and hummidity play a big role in the cars tunes.

We had cars from ***** to the wall (Area47 to a full out GMPP Car)

We all ranged from 240-249 hp and Tq numbers from 213-220's.... So use the dyno as a tuning tool, to see what the difference between mods!
