How do I know if my car is stock?

like the it says in the topic, I just bought a 07 SS/SC and I wanted to know if the car is really stock, I haven't look really into it but I did noticed that the pully on the supercharger is pretty small, and the car revs over 7k rmps like nothing. Also the bolts holding the pully are blue, are they supposed to be blue? Anyways other than that everything looks stock, is there any way to find? or should I just take it to a dyno and see for myself? Thanks!!

blue bolts on the pulley means GM Stage 2. smaller pulley, bigger injectors (probably 42#) and a reflash. supposed to add about 40 horsepower from stock. i'm sure you would know if the exhaust is stock or not. the stock intake is plastic and black. if you don't have much whine then it's cause you have stock intake, take the stock airbox off and put an aftermarket filter on and you're sc will scream or get an intake.

take a pic of your entire engine bay from multiple angles. Try and take a pic of the injectors (underneath the plastic part of the valve cover). We can help you from there. But from reading your post, it looks like you're not stock.

you have either the gm stage 1 or stage 2 package. Can't tell which unless you take pics of the injectors. Stage 1 uses the stock green injectors, while stage 2 has upgrades 42 lbs/hr injectors. Both packages also come with a reflash of the factory tune to adjust for the smaller pulley (and injectors if you're stage 2).

The injectors are located under the plastic part of the valve cover that says "Ecotec Supercharged".

Follow the intake tube all the way. It could be an AEM, or have the air box mod.

It's stage 2. Stage 1 is only injectors and flash. Stage 2 is injectors, pulley and flash and it obviously has the pulley.

a few recommendations, however:

(1) Check the metal part of your trunk and look at the code etched into it. Check to see if it says "G85" on there somewhere. If it does, then you have an lsd tranny.

(2) Replace those stock tranny mounts (and engine mounts) soon. These cars are known to break their tranny's with wheel hop. Turbo Tech Racing sells a great solid engine mount. Over the Top Performance (or Powell's Race Shop to be honest) sells rotated trans mounts that fix the wheel hop as well.

(3) If you don't have 42lbs/hr injectors, get some soon. Those stock injectors come maxed out on the factory pulley already. With that smaller pulley, those stock injectors are really easily going static at WOT.

Iirc stage 1 is just an injector upgrade and a reflash. Stage 2 has the smaller pulley.

thank you sir. I must have had it backwards. It's been a while since I even thought about GM's stage kits since they're so overpriced for what they are. If I were happy with just a little modding, I would have settled with zzp's kit.

That pulley has 77.9mm stamped on it so that would mean it's a stageII pulley (3.06"). How far over 7K rpm's does it rev? Might be an aftermarket tune if it rev's to 72-7500.... GM stage II has a 7K cutout.

Oh BTW .... That is one clean LSJ..... how many miles are on her? That engine bay looks like my 06 ss/sc's did when i bought it new .

@rukkee, how the hell did you see that in there? I saw soemthing on it but didn't pay attention to it.

@mexi loco, the car has some stamping or engraving on the passenger side near the top of the strut, doesn't look like it belongs there but will check the trunk for sure, also, yeah the mounts are giving out, the is a clicking that is driving me crazy

Haha .... just knew where to look for it 8). The stamp on the strut tower is your vin ..... some kind of anti theft stamping to discourage chop shop's i believe . There is a sticker with all the build option's under you carpet in your trunk ...... drivers side IIRC . G85 ( limited slip ) is a great option .... hope yours has it .

I remember pulling away from the dealer after the reflash and was beyond happy with stage II . Problem was i wanted that same bump up in power 3 months latter and then even more after that lol. It becomes addicting.
