I am considering a 2006 Cobalt SS for a daily, and was wondering how long they’ll last? Currently at 144,000 and I fear it won’t last much longer. Help?

 

It will last as long as you want it to. Like basically any other car, really.

If you want to drive it forever, your problem will become finding parts. They are becoming discontinued.

 

If the previous owner(s) took care of it it could easily go another 100k without much trouble. If it's stock then that's probably a good sign it wasn't beat on too bad imo. Any used car can be a dice roll though. Just don't pay too much for it.

 

I drove my car hard, tracked it, TVS swap and full bolt ons with water meth. I also maintained it religiously. Lasted me over 120k. Blew up on next owner.
