how loud will this be

Other thread was cluttered with useless posts about fighting

Vortex Header, CTI 3in to 2.5 catted DP, GMPP touring catback.

I had just a Megan Racing Catback before and that was to loud. Will this setup be that loud?

anyone....

it shouldnt be too loud, but a nice grumble.

my friend has the GMPP touring catback, and i have the vibrant 2 3/8's and mine is a lot louder.

since you are doing other exhaust mods, i think it should sound pretty damn perfect!

^you should be fine with any Gm catback.

You have a Cat, you have a muffler, It wont be bad at all.

I cut my muffler off and its loud as hell, plus tons of poeple have straightpipe on different models of cars. Never been looked at twice for being loud by cops but more of a reason for them to watch if im speeding

Plus your not in Cali

You will get a ticket especially on HWY 100.

In the state of Wisconsin it is illegal to modify your exhaust from stock. If your stock exhaust goes bad you are suppose to replace it with something that sounds the same. That is why I have just a header with a stock catback. Technically my exhaust is illegal but it isn't that much louder than stock so the cops don't bother me.

I just added a 2.5 catted DP to my set up (GMPP touring and stock manifold ) and it's too loud for me . I'm putting the stock exhaust back on soon. It sounds great , but attracts unwanted attention for sure.

Why would you want to go huge header to huge downpipe to tiny cat-back? 3" collectors meets 3" downpipe meets 2.25" cat-back???

Same thing goes for VA. I get hassled for my exhaust regularly. I think i've been pulled over at least 15 times in my Cobalt alone. Gotten about 8 tickets and the rest were warnings........only one cop threatened to impound my car. My full, cat-less exhaust stays on. Gotta pay to play

IMO theres no point in necking down twice....
3.0>2.5>2.25

slight bit of fail there.

It doesn't matter what GM says it is illegal. The reason why they say that it is legal is because it doesn't exceed the decibles that many states have set. With the economy the way it is cops will be pulling people over for anything they can so I would leave your car the way it is now. Putting a header on will make your car quite a bit louder.
