How to make supercharger whine louder?
Hey guys, I just bought a 2005 cobalt ss a few months ago and was wondering how to make the supercharger whine louder. The car is 100% stock with no gm stage upgrades. I saw a ss last night at a car show and when he left the supercharger sounded pretty sweet. Is it just an after market intake system that makes the sound? if I change the intake does that mean I have to get different injectors and retune the computer? I no nothing about these computer cars. I race a 9 second vette at the strip but its a carb setup so going from that to this is foreign to me. I dont want to go too crazy with this car because it is my daily driver but if there is a simple mod I can do that makes the car whine I would love to do it. By simple I dont mean inexpensive I mean easy

As stated before, if you want the loud whine from the supercharger, then you need an intake. Please note that most intakes will cause the system to throw a code and will need for it to be deleted by someone that has hptuners or else it will keep throwing the code.

Get a 3" intake from zzperformance.com they have the best true 3" intake on the market for the price right now im my opinion. it has the correct MAF positioning so no worries of a CEL or anything and you can choose a color of your choice and listen to your blower scream! if you want it to scream even louder, pulley down with a stage kit or piece your own "stage kit" together. check out zzperformance.com or overthetopperformance.com .......ZZP just happens to be my favorite, awesome company!

hey thanks for all of the replies and vids. Now if I were to put on a true 3 inch intake would I have to put the bigger injectors in and if so what size is suggested? like I said this is my daily driver so I dont want it to lessen the life of my car with these mods

Duct tape a stethoscope onto the supercharger and run it into your car to your earphone pieces. It'll be louder then ever.

Save your money and do the air box mod with a big K&N or other large cone filter on the end. Mine is bone stock other than that and it’s a night and day difference from factory. Also I believe I’ve seen multiple people on here say that the GM tube is at least 3” it’s just not always round.
