How Many Miles?
is there some certain number of miles necessary to put on these motors before upgrading to the stage 2? i only have 660 miles on my 2007, (ive had it for two weeks) but i stumbled into a great deal on a stage two, (see below). how many miles did you guys have when you put your stage two on?
My dealer told me it was "impossible" to find a car with LSD and since i didnt know any better at the time i believed him. i found out later that the cars could easily be found/ordered with the limited slip.
The dealer i bought the car from has a "completely satisfied" policy, and when they called me and asked me that, i said "no", because i was lied to. The owner said that he couldnt change the fact that i didnt get the LSD, which i agreed wouldnt be sensible to try to change. So he asked what would make me happy, i said a good deal on a stage two upgrade.
He called me back after talking to his parts guy, and said that his cost on the stage 2 is 525 dollars. He offered me the parts for cost, and the labor for free. So that would just be 525 +tax for the stage two installed at the dealer. Which i think is a great deal, i just dont know if the motor needs any time.

I did not read your entire post but I read the first part. To answer your question, I had stage II very early and had no probs. Stage II in no way can hurt or harm your car as long as everything is installed correctly. Get the install man, if your only paying for parts that is one hell of a deal.

Im a bit **** that way, and waited for 1k KMs just to let everything settle down, and make sure i had no OTHER problems, before i added new parts.

Damn I work for a GM dealer and cant even get pricing like that. Miles shouldnt be a big deal because some dealers will put on a stage kit before you take ownership of the car. In that case you would have a stage 2 5 mile cobalt :-).
I say DO IT NOWWWWWWWWWW

ive been searching and catn find anything, is it true that the computer limits boost until you have so many miles on the car. my car is certainly NOT making 12.5 psi, it never gets above the dash right before 12.5 psi.
If its true how many miles until full boost?

i dont know if its the computer....
but most people experience slightly lower boost for the first 1k miles or so.
another common thing is, people dont realise how boost builds in these cars.
when you punch it at lower RPM, youll only see about 10, then as the boost builds (especially as you work through the gears) once you hit redline in 3rd youll see your peak boost.
you dont seet 12.5lbs boost instantly when your stock. it has to build over the rpms.

Considering you can order the car with stage 2, I'd say get it done asap. Just follow the same break in procedures you would normally do. At 600 miles, though, your car should be fine. The engines are broken in before they even get put in the car - you're mainly breaking in the clutch, brakes, etc. Get stage 2, and let them know how much you like it as you leave the dealership.

i knew the boost wasnt full right when it was floored, but i was just checking it at redline at the top of first and second, never the two in a row or into third.
i just got back from erie pa and my car now has just over 1k on it, so ill be getting the stage 2 next week or so.
ill have to try running through a few gears in a row and see if it builds to 12.5. thanks.

i got the K&N CAI, and will be getting the stage 2 very soon. words cannot describe what a CAI does to the sound of the blower!! i laughed all the way around the block. very very cool sound.
how much louder does it get going from otherwise stock with CAI to stage 2 with CAI?

You'll notice a bigger difference from stock to the CAI, then from the CAI to stage 2. The whine will be a little higher-pitched when you get stage 2, but not that much louder. (it will be plenty loud already with just the CAI on, though.)
