How much hp and tq n/a?

Does anybody know how much hp and tq the 2.0 ss/sc would be without the supercharger? I'm thinking about 115hp and 100tq. If it is, then crap is that weak. What do you guys think? Just for laughs, imagine the 170hp, na, 2.4l ss with a supercharger at 12.5psi boost.....mmmmmm....like 315hp. Now that's not bad.

Here's the link to a calculator I used to estimate it. Looks about right to me.

12PSI equates to about 70-80HP. The motor itself is rated at about 120-130HP N/A

What you have to consider is that the 2.0L was built to be supercharged. It's a very strong engine with good internals which can handle a lot of pressure and abuse, that's what makes it a good motor.

The 2.4L will not handle boost as well as the 2.0L; you will need to do some upgrades to the motor to safely boost 12.5psi.

Most car manufacturers will F/I their smaller displacement motors for better compatibility with boost pressure. For example, Audi powered their 2000-2002 A6's with either a 2.8L N/A V6, 3.0L V6, 4.2L V8, or a 2.7L bi-turbo V6. The smaller displacement along with stronger internals of the 2.7L helped the motor deal with the added pressure of boost.

Small displacement + F/I = cheaper for the manufacturer and more reliable.

However, only imagine a Bi-turbo 4.2L V8, which by itself makes 300hp.

The LSJ doesn't make much power NA because of it's low (boost friendly) compression ratio.

^ good point, kinda like supercharged grand prix gtps, when the s/c is taken off of the 3.8 they are actually slower than the normal 3.8 non-s/c because of the compression ratios
