How much louder without a cat?

I'm getting a cat-delete pipe, and I'm just wondering how much louder my exhaust will get with no cat.

if you love your supercharger whine. DO NOT GET A NO CAT PIPE> you will NOT hear it at all. I deleted my cat and I did feel a lil bit of power increase maybe one ot two hp. I donnu if I was right or not. But the next day I ordered a high flow cat. I just wasnt happy with the sound, is sounded like a crazy ricer honda, it was just sooooo insanely loud. I hated it.

Well I'm deleting the cat out of nesisity. I ordered 60 lbs/hr injectors and I still have the stock pulley. So until I get my 2.6 pulley I'll be running rich as hell, and I don't want to clog up my cat. Plus my s/c whine will also be way louder even with the stock pulley, because after the tune it will be running at 100% boost.

no offense but how the heck can you feel a 1-2 hp difference? i doubt i could, but then...i guess i just don't have the skill.

im kidding around...i'm sure if you felt something different, then it wouldn't be much.

I couldnt take how loud mine got without the cat . I can gladly do a loud V8 , but I was basically embarressed at how loud mine was :shrugs: .....I do seem to be in the minority with my thoughts in the 4 banger circles though

You wont run any more rich that you are now, if you get 60 lb/hr injectors, your engine will still send the same amount of gas as your 34 lb/hr until you retune the car.

Will it even recognize the new injectors? I had to hold off on putting my 42 lbers in until I could get a tune, I don't see how 60lbers would be any different. Don't put in new injectors without a tune or a MAF T, preferably a tune.

Maybe, but my experience has been do it right the first time. Don't screw around with the injectors until you can tune the car properly.

A guy from the redline forums with hp tuners is waiting for my call when the injectors arrive so he can tune my car.

IMO If you feel a difference, its most likely 8-10 hp. The K&N intake adds 8-10 whp and I did feel a slight difference in power after I installed it.

Why would you delete your cat? You wont be able to get it emmissions tested, it's not that much more power, and worst of all... it really is a constant loud noise that will get old really quick. Good luck trying to have a normal conversation in your car. Just don't do it man.

when you change injecters your car WILL run richer.

I have the AFR gauge to prove it.

the ECU doesnt send"fuel" to the moter it sends a signal that opens and close's the injecters....so with larger injecters they will dump more fuel in that given amount of time.

so...long story short....dont run/run for as short of a time as you can a car with differant injecters because BOY OH BOY will it **** up your long and short fuel trims....and do it fast!

EDIT...

sry for the thred jack...just answering a question.

What? I don't know what "don't run/run" means? If your trying to say don't run the injectors without a tune, then I'v got that handled. I'm getting the injectors, calling the guy with hp tuners, going down to the dyno, installing the injectors and tuning the car.

^^^^ In reality though , yes ...youll be adding alot more fuel , but...youll also be burning that added fuel if your making the power to require the bigger injectors and re-mapped fuel triims . If your car is tuned right your not gonna have any problems with regaurds to clogging up a converter . The problem with the stock cobalt converter is the added exhaust velocity typically will blow apart the the honeycomb core inside ( out stock converter flows well , but is a pos durability wise ). Thats the prob with the stock converter and higher boost .....its happened to MORE than few SS guys running higher boost levels .

I'm getting the clear image auto header, its got a "3 collector so I'll just run 3" exhaust, and it will leave the option of putting a cat it, if I ever need it (no emissions testing for 5 years in AZ ) and if all else fails I'll just register the car at my aunt and uncles house (no emissions testing in flagstaff)

theres more after the "dont run/run...." part.

what i'm saying is that runing the car with larger injecters while not tuned will totaly **** with your long and short fuel trims and then it takes a while to get them back to where you want them.

if you have to run the car(driveing to get the tune done) then stay outta the throttle or else it'll load up with fuel and you'll end up with carbon build up and thats no good for performance.

HTH.

Oh, no I'm installing the injectors AT the dyno. The car will be driven from where ever the injectors are installed (prolly in the dyno shop garage) to the acuall dyno when it will then be tuned. So maybe 30 seconds to a minute of running on the injectors with no tune.

Oh, yeah I was thinking that the car wouldn't even run without a tune, so I planned on having to push the car onto the dyno.
