How much power is to much?
I have an '07 SS/SC (Yellow). Right now the only performance mods i have are Stage II, the airbox mod with K&N E-1009, and (in a few days) a headers-back exhaust. i was planning on buying a smaller pulley, cooler spark plugs, a tune, and a CA heat exchanger. (And a torque dampener and tranny mounts)
I was just wondering at what point am i going to have to start getting any internal mods to my engine. I don't want to blow it before i have some fun. any info would be appreciated. thanks guys

how much smaller of a pulley are you talkin...if you stay within some reason you will not need to mod the internals to handle what you have ...with the h/e and the tune...u should be fine.

I have 245hp/215tq and I am quite happy, of course I want more, but I have other financial obligations that I need to get in order before the car can come up for expenditure again, and I have to say 3rd gear is a f'in ball in this car with my mods
After a few months goes by I do plan on going with headers, downpipe, dual pass plate, and maybe a new H/E before I do anything else major

4000hp is rediculous and is not obtainable on the street. Or at least on pump gas. My goal is 1000rwhp in my z06. 440 was at first scary. Then it was fun. Now it's alright. The car totally hooks, which is great but now I am ready for a big CI turbo setup.

You also gotta ask yourself, is this your daily driver? Do you want warranty? Do you want reliablility, because after a certain point all those go out the window, i learned that the hardway with my last cobalt, so this time iam going to tone it down a bit.

Well in this book i have it says: "GM Racing dynamometer tests confirm that major HP gains are possible w/ minimal mods. For instance, when building an ECOTEC engine up to 400HP level, no mods. to the cylinder head, block, main girdle or crankshaft are required." but if u go over that you will need to replace the block and install all those other parts. And really its easy to get 400HP out of these engines w/o the help of a NOS. These engines are also proven reliable and effective up to 11,000rpm. Hopes that helps out.

Man, I don't get it with the uber high compression pistons on a boosted motor! Maybe it's just me but I was always under the impression that lower the better!

because i like nitrous and nitrous loves compression. plus 10:1 isnt too bad for boost. the biggest thing is going to be heat, but i have a few mothods to cure that
