Question hptuners question

i have access to the hptuners software from a friend. ive not used this on my car yet since its still in the shop getting the slave cylinder and rear main seal replaced. i have been learning on the stock cavalier that my friend (owner of the tuning software) has.

i am planning on doing my own "stage 2" set up (ie: ZZP modular pulley and puller, 42 lb injectors and harness, and drive belt) and tuning it with the hptuners for the larger injectors, 7k redline, and boost management

Questions:
1. what parameters are you hpt people using for the fuel management with 42 lb injectors? i am still a n00b with adjusting the PE and VE tables and dont wanna jack up my fuel maps and risk breaking ****.
2. what values are you using for the MAF sensor to keep it happy? i am plagued with the usual p0171 DTC from my intake.

For a fee fast06SS or Intense will sell you a hptuners log file that will get you really close and show you changes to make.

Your right, his is for the 2.0. You would need to talk to Rob or Intense about a 2.4 log file.

Keep the MAF the same and make sure you have the stock air box. There is no need to edit the MAF because it's calibrated just fine even for more boost (it just reads more air). You might need to up the failure freq however since it will be reading more than the normal.

For the injectors you need to just setup the curve on the IFR vs VAC for the new flow rate. The curve is set for 34 right now so I just upped mine about 7 # (yes I know it's actually 8, but 8 is too much) Also your IFR vs VAC might have a fucked up spike in the map, I have removed that, and it's a mystery what it's there for.

Of course I recommend chaning the supercharger tq management to your needs, if you have an 2006 your lucky because you get better tq management than us 05 guys.

You can also add more spark, and edit the PE maps and Piston protect (up to 7k for me so it never comes on ) But have a WB02 if your doing to mess with that.

Just do lots of logging with TPS, MAF, Calculated air flow, LTFT, Inj duty cycle, Pulse wdith, RPM ect ect. Load up on data and just get your LTFT dialed in.

I am thinking you are asking me, Rod, right?
I understand that the Westers tune that another 2.4 owner used got about 20hp and he paid $500. for that.

Done properly you should see the same results as the Wester's tune.

You get free HP just from raising the rev limiter. Plus timing, ect.

Getting 20 HP gain from the LE5 with just a PCM tune is pretty outstanding.

The 20 that guys are gettin is with intake and catback, so the tune itself is like 5hp,But it changes your rev indicater, shift points and torque management, and more. But with hp tuner can I acheive any of these?

When the tunes get better for the 2.4 and with the regular boltons,210-220 should be attainable( maybe

Does the HPT work with the 2.4? If so, tweaks can be made for sure. Make the changes to the exhaust etc first then tune it instead of putting on a part then tuning, then doing something else and having to tweak again. IMO. And more than 5 HP can be found inside the PCM

Actually, Matty is saying put the mods on first and then tune, so your not tuning twice.
