Hurry, before winter!

I want to do some type of header and down pipe.
Im looking at the GM manifold because It's cheap and is a gmpp part (I like that).
My cat is also starting to plug again (it happened before) so I want a down pipe with cat that sounds good.
Im thinking an xtc with cat.

What size down pipe should I get? 2.5'' or 3''?
Am I being stupid about the gmpp manifold? Should I spend more and get a real header?
What is the best sounding combination I can get?

Ive read all the posts and searched for 2 weeks, thanx again...

Since you have the GMPP Exhaust, you should get a 2.5" DP. I have the same exhaust, the XTC DP w/ cat, and the Pacesetter Ceramic coated header. Waiting for the DP still to install them all. I'll you know how it turns it though, if you don't make a decision by then lol. Also, there is a potential group buy for the GM manifold, it was posted today, search "GM exhaust manifold group buy" or somethin like that.

One of the 36 quadrillion posts here about it had a like to an independant dyno test showing it produced the same numbers as the headers they were compairing it to.
I tried to find which of the 36 quadrillion posts it was but I'm at work and don't have till Christmas to find it. Sorry.

But if you guys say it doesn't thats cool. All I know is what the dyno showed.

I think it is. Does anyone know if this header/downpipe will bolt to my GMPP exhaust? How does this combination sound?

I would say that cti downpipe is what gained you kinda hp/tq. there is alot of threads of dynos on here that will say its the same hp/tq as any other header.

I'm going with the Pacesetter, it looks like a good header and well put together. I picked it up yesterday.

Im still leaning towards the gm manifold because it's very stock looking. I like telling people that all i have is an intake and cat-back, lol.

yea its pricey but thats cheap as hell for 25 horses just think

you can get a header downpipe and exaust that wouldnt give that many horses and cost you just as much if not more

its common sense if u want your car fast your going to have to spend some money

my motto is go big or go home

Don't take any of this the wrong way cause none of it is ment as a flame and where that is true and I do agree with that school of thought you do realize thier is such a thing as more dollers then sence right? Thats just too expensive for a header and down pipe. I could have had custom made headers for my Fire Bird made by a local shop for less then that one header costs. If you got it like that great but NO header is worth $700.00 sorry.

And as for go big or go home, lets just say the last engine for my Fire Bird ran me a tad over $22,000.00 to have built, yes my engine cost more then my Cobalt SS did. It was a daily driven 10 second street car and this was 5 and 6 years ago. So I know all about going big.

But like I said before if it makes you happy go for it!

well its not just for the header its a header and downpipe

any other header will run you 200-300 dollars and any downpipe will run you about the same

the increase from those will only be what 15 horse at the most???? you do the math plus a downpipe you get might not have the option of taking out the cat and putting it back on like the cti does

and yea you spent 22grand on your engine y???? cuz it was the best way to go to give you the best performance

you could have a lot less just to get you by but you wanted the best and it was also worth that much to you

same deal with the header and downpipe we can spend less but its the best way to go for the money with the hp gains

Oh I know thats why I said I wasn't flaming. I guess its just that since I have a friend that owns an exhaust shop that when I hear real world prices on the stuff that he does for 50bucks for me it floors me! Oh well best of luck with your header and down pipe.
