Hurst vs. B&M

I am looking into buying a short shifter. Ive heard alot of good things about both the hurst and B&M. I was woundering which shifter has a shorter through? Also i heard that the Hurst has a problem with the reverse lock out. Has this been fixed yet? Whitch shifter do you guys recomend?

i installed my hurst no problems with reverse lock out, the throws are a little bit shorter but the shifting is way more clean a 2-3 almost does itself.

I had a B&M in my J-body and I wasn't that impressed. The throws were definately shorter but it didn't seem any cleaner (less play). I haven't experienced either in a Cobalt so who knows how the B&M fits in one. All I know is that I'm giving Hurst the chance when I buy one because I have not heard one bad thing about their Cobalt shifter.

I love the Hurst, the throws seem exactly the same length-wise between the two, but the Hurst feels a little more solid, like lsjwannabe said.

As for reverse lockout, there is no problem with it, that's installer error. When you install it you have to adjust the cables down below it which will adjust the shifter position and that is what determines whether it goes over the reverse lockout or not. Mine works just fine, in fact it goes over that reverse lockout lip even better than the stock shifter did.

B&M gives you better bushings? I had read that we need some better ones in the shifter assembly. I am in the same boat, I am trying to debate between the hurst and the b&m. I've done alot of searching in the forum and I havent been able to find many pictures, besides some b&m ones... Anyone with the hurst want to get some pictures? and some more pics of the b&m?

which one is plastic and which is metal? I thought the hurst and the b&m were both metal shift knobs
