Hydrashield / Dryflow cover?
Hydrashield / Dryflow cover?
I recently put the k&n typhoon on but it didn't come with a filter. I put on my dryflow filter and when I went to clean it I noticed a little water getting past the splash guard. I was just wondering how many people use the hydashield (injen) or dryflow (k&n) on their filters. I am assuming air goes through them just fine but will block all water. I was looking to buy one but everywhere I saw they were like 25 bucks. Anyone know which I should look into getting, the injen or k&n, for my 5" x 3" dryflow filter? Thanks alot.
Someone has to use one.

I got the injen hydroshield. It works great to me and it doesn't effect performance. $25 is about the average you're going to pay unless they're on sell or group buy.

They look to be a decent price. I just don't know what size I would need. I know the filter is 5" x 3".

Its great i hit a fairly large puddle on the road last night, i mean to the point where i was worried about sucking watter and hydro locking my engine and got home and checked inside..... with a splash that big a tiny bit got it(good for the supercharger) but not much at all.... love this thing man it is well worth your money
I took my K&N one off, it was caked full of dirt inside and was causing a bogging condition when driving in heavy rain, I think it was holding water on the inside as well and waterlogging the filter. I took it off and haven't had a problem since.
