I am quite upset with my Cobalt!!!

I just went out and did a little roll race with another member here.

My mods = Stage 2, 2.9, GMPP-Sport Catback, Air Box mod, NGK BKR7E's.
His mods = Air box, GMPP-Sport Catback, Hurst Short Throw.

45 Roll 2 times = Dead Even.

The only thing odd about my car is that me and my friend have the exact same exhaust yet his is 3 times louder and I have more miles on my exhaust than he does. I plan on ordering a header and downpipe soon to see if it makes any difference.

But to say the least I am kinda upset. I am just glad the other balt is my friends car and he is a really cool guy.

Anyone have an idea as to what could be the reasoning behind my car being slow as **** for what it has done?

UPDATE!! I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!

Just got back from the dealership. I have a clogged cat, I am thinking its pretty bad, you honestly cant tell that I have a cat-back on the car it is so quiet. So we ordered me a stock DP under warrenty and it should be here in 1-3 days. I have never had a clogged cat, does it really rob that much power? Also to add, my car has ALWAYS been quiter than the one I raced, we are thinking my cat has been going south for some time now, I only have 8,000 miles on my car too .

thats the gm crap tuning for ya.... get hptuners or get someone to tune it for ya.... I tuned my car with a 3 inch pulley, stock cast exhaust manifold, zzp catless dp, megan cat back, injen intake, 60 lb injectors, exedy stage 3 clutch assembly and same plugs as u have.... put down 260hp 255tq. last time i check thats what stage 3 is rated at for hp without nitrous..... put a 2.8 pulley on, zzp shorty header, and retuned it and got 287hp 273tq.... I must say doing a 40mph roll in 2nd gear on dry pavement.... its a cool feeling breaking the stock tires loose.... this year im gonna do a lil more work and try to break 300hp since im 13hp away from it

I'm convinced the GM tune is strong with the Stage 2 pulley. The tune runs way too rich with the smaller pulleys.

We both use shell 93.

A smaller pulley would lean out the S2 tune.

i dont race other cobalts..if they brag to much, okay i might give them a run,but just to prove that my car is faster then there car,na ill pass,u can have that win.ill rather run a evo or sti than a fellow cobalt owner

i know ur fast enough to run a 13.6 @107 which is outta my leauge at this current moment. i would like to watch u race an sti or evo just to have an idea of where u are at. i dont want the win i never wanted 2 race you i am just curious as to your mods because u live within an hour or so from me and i was wanting to take the same type of route modding as u did because it seems to be working at this elavation for u real well

A smaller pulley would lean out the S2 tune.

the stock s2 pulley on the cobalt will bring the car to about 10.2afr redline..so a 2.9" would bring it up(lean it out)to around 10.7 or so..2.85 would bring u to 11.0ish or so,thats where u wanna be

also the s2 tune is good if u got the right mods..i break 2nd loose on BRAND NEW tires that are much gripper than the stockers and its a good feeling sometimes

The other driver hit his rev limiter in 2nd and still hung with me decent, had he not hit rev limit we would have been dead ass even.
