I Hate Gm!!!

Yesterday I had an appointment at 8 in the morning I got there at 745, there was 2 people before me. I was there to get my stade 2 kit in. They sat on my car all damn day... They didn't even touch it. I can't even explain how mad I was when they said they couldn't do it that day cause it was to much work...OMFG are they so dum they cant put on 4 injectors and a pulley!? God I could do that in under an hour! I have another appointment at 730 tomorrow but needless to say I was so mad that I almost wanted my old car back.

sounds like a bad DEALER, its not GM's fault at all! God, I hate when people blame GM for stuff that isn't GM's fault at all. I'd say go to another dealership.

Yeah, they don't like doing stage 2 installs cause they get paid less than the time it actually takes - my stage 2 install started friday..........it's still there

If someone's car is broken and needs to be fixed thats going to take precedence over you getting your stage kit installed. sorry

Exactly. I took mine in for warrenty work on the lights, all they had to do was do a reflash on the computer (which still didn't fix it, but thats all they did) and they had it from 7:45am to 4pm. If you don't like how the dealership does stuff, find a different dealer.

none of the techs want to do it, because if they havent done it before they will probably spend 8 hours on a job they will only get 3 hours pay for.

Definitely can't blame GM for this. But if they make an appointment with you, I think that should take precedence over ANY walk in, regardless of it's severity. Unfortunately that's not how they see it. I think far too often the dealership pushes the modifications to the side, luckily I live in Alaska and here, the dealerships see so few mods, that they are always excited to see what that will do for the vehicle. In fact, I get discounts on regular shop rates for those types of mods as well... because they want me to take it there instead of some other shop...

Yeah, your right. But if something breaks, knowing gm they will blame it on something else and void your warranty.Thats why i installed my stage 2 myself.

I'm not even a mechanic and i did it in less than 2 hours. I don't think they are taking a whole day to do it unless they just wanna go slow and not work alot that day..

Oh come on, this question has been asked before like three times. The guy probably wants the installation to be under warranty as well. You don't get this if you just do it yourself.

that depends on the dealership. a lot of them will actually still warranty it no matter who installed it.

Yeah....to some extent. Your parts for stage II are warrantied no matter what of course; if you install it the dealer will most of the time continue to honor your warranty across the board. However, if something specifically having to do with the stage II kit and it's interaction with the engine goes wrong that is where you can run into problems and they would more often than not say that since they didn't install it they can't be sure that it's not YOUR fault that it broke that specific part.

Reguardless of all of this; if anyone in this thread is capable of and has performed anything under the hood of a car with any sort of competency then you know that it is completely wrong that it should take a PROFESSIONAL mechanic at the dealership any more than 4 hours to do this job. I give them 1 hour added on to 3 in case they don't have a certain tool etc., but even then.....
