Yup, for Years now I've been bashing this car on the forum. I still don't love it. However, nobody wants a cobalt anymore so I'm stuck with it. I've put in a new engine, new gmpp clutch, fidanza flywheel, upgraded shift cable bracket, it's gms2, AEM e85 fuel pump, fujita intake, Ingalls damper, lnf tob....

but, I STILL DONT DRIVE IT. I think it's a boat personally but I'm trying to get over that. So, recently since I'm stuck with it anyways, I started buying parts. I have zzp shorty header 3" down pipe, 2.5" catback all V band. I have 60# injectors, 2.8 pulley, dual pass endplate, powell rotated mounts and a new intercooler pump.

I am trying to pay off my credit card from when my dog broke her leg. (Terrible thing to happen btw) before I buy anything else.

I'm putting together the list of things next I need, I'll rifle them off but some scrutiny or educated feedback will be appreciated!!

In the basket are zzp 1.0 pcm, injector harness, laminovas upgraded O'rings, and zzp s3 intercooler.

I'm not going for "all out power" just something quick and reliable. I plan on buying my big boy toy this summer so I don't need the cobalt to make power more than the stock m62 can handle.

Is this a question or a rant?

How have you been on here years and not know where to go next with your car...Why waste money on a car you don't love that will maybe hit 275whp after spending a good amount of cash while making it less reliable and more hungry for gas. Make it look good on the outside and just keep it the way you have it now, don't waste anymore cash. Invest it in your new big boy toy.

I know where I want to go, but I might miss something along the way. You know how it goes. I don't love the car, no secret. But I'm keeping it so I'm making it more fun to drive. Till I blow it up again haha! I don't consider it wasting money if I have a reason for buying the parts, plus, it's my freaking money I'll do with it whatever I please lol. I'm waiting for the genesis coupe v8 to drop later this year or atleast the confirmation of the power its going to put down and if it's awd or rwd. Yes, they are making that btw. If it's not what I hoped and dreamed it to be, I'm buying a mustang gt. That new coyote is a beast.. yes, it's a rant, and it's a question. Get it? The cobalt is a boat compared to my tiburon and my conquest tsi.

My 02 Monte Carlo is a boat...

If a Cobalt is a boat then it must be a jet ski.

Lol I see your point. However, I ride with my wife to work everyday and she has a mini cooper S. That thing makes most cars feel like a boat.

so if i ride a motorcycle every day then a smart car becomes a boat ... im not too sure where you are headed. If you took ALL cars into consideration the cobalt is not a boat by any means. Go drive a challenger if you want to see what a boat is like ... that mustang or genesis you want.. have you driven one ??? those are going to feel like a boat.

My cobalt is a go kart on steroids, setup the suspension correctly and you shall see. Even on stock setup it handles superior to many.

And i thought the new v8 for the genesis was only going into the sedan, which already has the 5.0 v8 in it. I think they dropped the turbo 4 to just keep all the coupes with the v6 and that was that.

u don't care what you have done to your cobalt it's still not as agile as my wife's mini lol. But anywho, yes I've driven the gen coupe and it's not at all a boat. I've driven many stock and modified ones and trust me, it handles just fine. Some understeer but that what driver mod is for. Yea, hyundai dropped the 2.0T in favor of the 3.8. I've read there will be a 3.3 lambda twin turbo, the 3.8 being the little guy option, lambda being mid ground and the 5.0 rspec going to be the high dollar option. All for the COUPE. It came straight from hyundais' owner. You can Google it and find that if you want. It's going to be bad ass. The only thing that's up in the air is whether or not they will do awd or rwd..

then gen coupe is not doing to be a v8. its getting an updated 3.8l and a tt 3.3l v6 for power. no v8. and its certainly not going to be this year or it would've dropped already. no concept cars no nothing. and the performance option is going to be an N performance option with nearly 500hp from the latest things ive read about it. so no v8. and given the price of the gen sedan v8 why the hell would you want one especially since they claim they want to move the gen coupe upmarket to compete wit ze germans. it will be a ton more expensive than a gt or gen6 Camaro.

Not sure what you've read but that is just not true. There will be a v8 in the coupe. They have already done the testing with a mule car. Might not be last quarter this year but from what I've read it will be in 2017.

Also, mr.b, I'm not selling parts I would need to run the tvs. That comment even though acceptable, is erroneous.

unless they just make the current gen a coupe a'la the A5/7 then youre not going to see a v8. and then the car will likely cost 55k as the current gen v8 costs 51k and coupes normally come in at a higher price point.

If it's AWD that's fine for me. I can totally justify that to my wife lol. I was 1 day away from ordering a gt350 and the house we wanted popped up on the market so we bought that instead... priorities typically surround the wife so haha no pony. But soon! So yea i can wait. The discussion with hyundai was something like a 5 year plan and that was in 2013. They are due to release the v8. It's comming. Just like the rumors of the mustang gt350 being a 5.2l flat plane crank power house were all over before the release. Everyone was saying "no way, not happening" looking foolish now I imagine ;-)
