improving track times

Hey I'm just wondering if anyone on here has been to the track to do some runs then after installing just the ingalls engine torque dampener seeing how that help your ETs. Thats the only mod I have done to my car since I last went to the track and I'm hoping it'll help me get in the 8s at my local 1/8th mile. My best so far is a 9.2...

you have stage 2 and youre only doing 9.2? i did that time stock... im not at all bashing your car, but if this is the case then you must be getting bad launches. the dampener should definitely get you into the 8's! keep us updated.

Yeah I have stage 2 plus that was my first time ever at the track...traction was next to near impossible. Felt like I couldn't ever fully get in it until I was halfway down the track. This ingalls dampener definately helps my launches out...just wondering how much I should be able to pick up.

i think the added feel and firmness should improve your times quite a bit. you wont get more traction without slicks tho.

Is traction worse on the track rather than on a normal street?

Ugh. Lets just say that the ingalls ED got rid of my wheel hop, but it didn't help my track times at all. All I did was spin. Believe me, I know how to launch my car too. When I put my car before its limits to spin, I got **** 60's like 2.4. It just may be the tires but I think when I had wheel hop, my car gripped better.

I need some Bridgestone Potenza's!

Installed the Ingalls today I bought from Turbotech, and along with my ZZP tranny mount and JBP control arm bushings, wheel hop is gone. Not even a hint.

I have intense trans mounts and JBP CABs on the way. Im hopeing that will get rid of my wheel hop.

Even if it dosnt give me beter track times it will help to prevent damedge to the drive line and clutch. As well as stop me from looking stupid on the track.

i think 'stopping you from looking stupid on the track' will be the main difference :P

Well this friday hopefully I'll get to try it out...last friday it was rained out. 30% chance so far this friday so hopefully I can get some runs in. I have it set to a little over 11 mm would that extra mm really make that much of a difference? I had a little wheel hop on the street but I think it was only due to bumps in the road...anyways this will be my second time and I really want to get in the 8s. With all my damn mods I gotta be able to get in the 8s. maybe I'm just launching wrong...any launching advice out there?

I guess everyone is saying just take off like normal and get on it when you get traction but I am sucking at driving at the track so don't ask me.

A quick question if its not to much trouble. How long have you had the K&N intake and do you have a cel? thanx a ton. hope you get into the 8's. good luck.

I've had it since september or october, whenever it came out...and I've had about 4 or 5 CELs since then. About the same amount before and after stage 2 flash...I have noticed though it only comes on around 1800 rpms and steadily cruising at those rpms.
