basically, what he's saying is that there could (in theory) be several RPO codes for the same transmission based on which version of the same trans is in which car.

BTW, I'll keep info on the newest cams that are going to be arriving, in this thread since about all the guys with aftermarket cams installed and know what they are talking about are here anyway.

Also there could be multiple RPO codes across a variety of transaxles that are totally different from one another but all share the same torque designation. I'm not sure on this but I think there are multiple F40 transaxles out there but they are all completely different from one another.

there may be. F40 is a GM thing, i am sure the trans mfgr has it's own codes.

He just got his engine built. I'm guessing the crank was out of the block...

Case learn needs to be done when you remove the crank or CKP sensor, not just the PCM.

::shrugs:: interesting. learn something new everyday. i thought it just had something to do with the ecm itself in terms of vin locking and other little things.

guess it falls into the "other little things"

but if the ecm is out of the car, the motor is out. everything is back in time like it was before. what difference would it make?

Case learn teaches the PCM the minute variations between the crank reluctor ring and CKP sensor for misfire calculation purposes.
