Ingalls Torque Damper (2 Questions)

Hi,

I have two questions regarding the ingalls torque damper for the SS/SC:

1) What does it do exactly? I mean, how does it work? I'm just curious.
2) Also, do we lose torque at high speeds. For example, if I accelerate down to the end when I'm going 100 km/h, will my car be slower?

Thanks!

Gabriel

Prevents engine movement, prevents wheel hop and allows more power to be transfered to the wheels.

More high horse power cars are switching to the Turbo Tech Racing Solid Engine Mount, as it is a complete replacement mount.

doesn't effect hp or tq at all, just stop the engine from shaking back and forth. i've also noticed my shifts are smoother than i put mine on. doesn't kill wheel hop, but it does help. i hopped my wheels really good (actually, really bad... heh) last week.

If you eliminate wheel hop, you will be able to apply more power. You are not going to make any power at the motor, but you will be able to more effictively use it.

Correct you will better utilize the torque your engine produces.

have they made a dampner for the 2.2 yet? or do we just have better engine/tranny mounts?

If you have a 2006 you can put on the Ingalls with an aftermarket intake, like Injen.

Also the Turbo Tech Racing Solid upper engine mount will work on the 2.2L with an aftermarket intake

Thanks, that's all I wanted to know. I thought the torque would have decreased at high speeds. It's good to know that it doesn't. I don't plan on modifying my car too much, other than the stage 2 that I already have, it'll stay stock. Maybe an intake and the ingalls for the wheel hop.

Thanks again!

the only shitty thing about the engine mounts is that you cant adjust it, on the ingalls you can dial it in for the days at the track and then dial it out for daily driving. for those who dont know installing the engine mounts and ingalls will cause alot more vibrations in the car, with ingalls you can control it a little bit.
