Ingalls worth it?

Anyone with an ingalls do you think its worth it? can you notice a difference in daily driving or just on hard launches. I dont do really any hard launches so I was just wondering if it made a difference in regular driving. I do some high speed and heavy acceleration but no dragging?

So enough with my rambling is it worth it?

People are not answering since this has been covered many times already.

If you never experienced wheel hop (depends on how aggressive you are), you don't need them. Else, get them I only heard good things about them.

You will find a lot of information by using the search as well.

I own this unit and IMO was one of the best mods, I hated the wheel hop, the car feels so much better now with the Ingalls unit. Even driving on wet roads, I hardly get any hop, just wheel spin. Well worth it.

there are topics like this already if you search.

it makes the car a bit louder because you are getting more vibrations from the engine. if you have any wheel hop, it eliminated mine completely. also, harder shifts feel a bit more solid. i guess that can be accredited to the engine not moving around as much.

another thing, if you have ever launched hard and had the engine "bang" the firewall, that is fiexed as well.

i ordered from turbo tech and have nothing but good things to say

Junk, went through two of them and bent them both at the strip. The second set of "revised" brackets didn't hold up either so I replaced it one final time and sold it. It did minimize wheelhop by making the juddering effect less violent. Good piece for the street, crap for the track.

now heres a question, if you have one of these is it counterproductive to get an upper mount, or are these only useful with the stock mount

I come from the jbody eco world, we never had these torque things, only a solid upper mount from RK sport and most recently Turbo Tech

We have had solid upper mounts out for the J-Body Ecotec (Turbo Tech Racing Brand) for about a year now. They offer very little vibs, however they are very solid. It was a design that took months of evaluation/tests to perfect. We could always offer solid upper engine mounts for the cobalts if we notice an interest.

I think what should help you decide is how much your going to mod, if your going light and just want to get rid of wheel hop go ingalls, but if you going to mod heavy go with a solid mount.

Very true , when i installed mine i was stock and it minimized wheel hop very well . Now with even stage 1 wheel hop is back . I still have it on because it stiffens up the shift and makes the car feel more "Solid" when shifting but thats about it .

in my opinion, its so worth it! ive had it on for 3 months now and i hopped two times in that period!... before i installed the damper, the wheel hop was so annoying and embarrassing and hands down you will be rippin it here and there. and just in case down the road u do decide to modd ull be able to adjust it but a torque damper wont cut it for launching, ull need further motor mounts.

hope i helped.

Junk? Ha the units Ingalls is seeing damaged is due to 95% inproper install. The cobalt ss is a very powerful car but HP wise isnt close to the EVO's and yet the EVO guys are running around 400 AWDHP with no issues....? Seems to me its an install issue on your part...no?

Exactly. We have already established the fact that most of these failures were due to improper install.

I like mine.

I love mine, it was the first thing i got for it. You put all the power to the ground instead of losing it to wheel hop, witch means better acceleration. That just my 0.02

Read my article:

In my opinion it should be the first mod.

Take your car to the strip with drag radials and then know a little more about me then get back to me ok Launch your car at 3K rpms with DR's then see what happens to it, I think you'll change your tune. Improper adjustment, I doubt it. The damper heim joints were straight as an arrow to the brackets. If you only ever drive your car on the street then you probably will never have a problem.

I will tell you right now if your unit is bent or damaged it is due most likely to improper installation. These units have been subjected to numerous stress test and metal analysis. The unit is safe for 500HP you are nowhere near that number so maybe just maybe its install and product combined with it leaning towards install? Just think about it.

Wow, tell me more details. Any pics of it installed on your car before you sold it?
