Well, I sat down and started doing it, and I realized.... there is no how-to on this. You just do it, get a dremel and go to town.

lol boost is NOT back pressure, back pressure is restriction to force. thus a blower in turn would force air into the cc which is good, upping compresion and throttle responce. have you done any research on this? i would hate to flame you but boost compresses air into the CC and mixing fuel more throughly. i'm going to stop there and not flame you. anyways as he said it may lower boost levels a little but i dont see it harming anything.

He is right and wrong. Boost is a resistance to the amount of air being pushed into the engine. CFM is the amount of air that is being pushed in. If you push in more CFM in the same amount of space you get more resistance, in other words more boost.

Now if you port the head your boost will drop, but you will actually gain performance. Porting the head allows for more air with less resistance in the engine.

Port the S/C and you will gain Boost and performance. Port the S/C will allow more air from the S/C but the same resistance in the engine.

want so see something interesting? this is an m45 compared to an m62 stock port, also remember the m45 and m62 are the same width and height, just the m45 is shorter. look at the size of the m45 compared to the m62 lol

its cool that you did that but when something is ported and polished it has smooth edges on it to help with air flow. did you smooth out yours because looking at the pic it looks rough.

It looks rough, but its not. I polished the areas that needed polishing, like the edges of the outlet, and the inlet.

I think he knows that.... the title of this post is insane porting. no polishing was ever mentioned. He could get more performance and reduce heat but the question is how much and is it worth the trouble in this case. Naturally aspirated it is definitely worth it. With a blower that is questionable. but it would be great to put the time in and cash to see how it does affect the LSJ.

the m45 port is not as long but it is wider, it's not that much different in size, yet it has 25% less volume. i'm not an engineer or anything, but that looks to me like there would be alot that could be cut away like the original poster did, instad of the small amounts that most shops are doing

I was asking if you took the pics would you mind taking them again with a ruler next to the ports. I know what they look like. Although its been 3 years since I've seen the M45. I was hoping you would do that so other people could see the differences.

so is any of this porting the blower stuff good?????????? i mean ive heard 2 sides. and if this was true that its bad for the s/c, which i think porting is better, then why in the world would intense-racing.com port there blowers on there stage 5 kits and sell them as the most high performance option?

i think the intense stage 5 ported blower looks clean and IF i had a s/c i would get that. but dremel for u works to i guess lol

fisting ur blower FTW lol

Intense does not actually port the blower. They send the blower off to Steigemier to be ported and polished,

Plus they port the silencer slits, which is worthless and makes the blower whine quiter.
