Intake question
OK so yesterday at work I was killing myself to figure out if there was a make-shift intake I could make till one comes out well, one guy at work heard and said why don't you just take the intake out and pop a filter right on the intake with out the tube. So first, I took the intake pipe off . I also started the engine when it was off for a minute and was revving it and it sounded awsome! The SC was screamin'. So hear is my delema, I bought 2 filter. A cheap one and a K&N Cone filter. There is no frickin' room in there to make the filter, just a filter, fit. Also when the filter was finally on, I started it, let it idle and it was not idleing right. There is another tube obviously i don't know what for , but when it was closed off it was fine. I don't think this will work just putting a filter on the end but I gave it a shot. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I am impatient and now that I heard what it sounds like with out the stock intake POS I can't wait plus this will be cheaper with even less restriction.
If someone is curious as to how the SC will sound without the stock intake it is easy just take off the intake tube that is connected to the SC and start the engine and rev away .....JUST DON"T DRIVE WITHOUT IT BACK ON!!!! It sounds awsome...

lol, I would recommend doing some more research before you try to do things of that nature. The SS has a lot of censors that need to work correctly before the car will be safe to drive. There are a few threads on here about people making intakes, I would suggest checking them out.
K&N sell a drop in filter that will go into the stock airbox which will give you the higher flow and you'll hear that SC wine a little louder.
